Do not buy this drive or deal with this company!

This is the fastest thumb drive and totally amazing ---- When it works! Bought it back in Sept and was totally blown away. Worked great until January. Became unable to maintain a stable connection then finally died. Rma's and take almost a month to get something done. New one was equally impressive but lasted about a month, it died and now back to rma. Got the 3rd one in about 3 weeks on March 23rd and on the 27th I plugged it in the Usb3 front panel ports and killed the  usb connection. Plugged it into the usb2 and killed those ports. Shutdown time - won't shutdown - must kill with power button. Reboot and everything back to normal. Tested connection with my other usb3 drives and no issues. Plug in the Rc8 and kills the connection. Front usb3 ports, rear usb3 ports, front usb2 ports, rear usb2 ports - does not matter as it will kill the connection. Might do this once, twice a day then may not do it for two or three days.

I could not maintain a stable connection, then it quit being recognized. Rma'd it and took almost a month and several communications to get one back. The new one was equally impressive but only lasted about a month and back to rma. Now I have $33 in shipping on the 2 rma's plus the $185 drive. Got it back on March 23rd and on the 27th started having issues with the THIRD drive. Plug it in and all the front and rear usb3 ports are knocked out. Usb2 ports still work with my other drives unless I plug RC8 into the usb2 ports then they are knocked out. When this happens, the machine will not shut down normally and the shutdown button must be used. When rebooted, I experimented a little by plugging it in to the usb2. Took a few times and the crash was duplicated. Front usb3 ports, rear usb3 ports, front usb2 ports, rear usb2 ports - don't matter it can and will disable the usb system and create the shutdown problems. Might work great for most the day then the next few times it crashes. Completely random with no  discernable patern.

I am at my wits end as I love the capabilities of this drive but am very suspicious as to the reliablity. Couple more rma's and I'll have more in shipping than the drive cost not counting the cost of the lengthy rma times.

What is SuperTalent going to do about this issue. A couple more rma's and I will have as much in shipping as the drive costs and apparently this drive is not reliable. The concept is absolutely amazing but it just will not stay up and running. Three drives in less than 6 months is totally not acceptable.

Apparently nothing as they are refusing to respond to the last two emails. A quick search of the net shows they are having a massive amount of issues with this drive. One of the biggest suppliers of computer parts has removed ALL SuperTalent items from their inventory for some reason. Wonder why?
