i was finally convinced to settle for $60.000.00 of which i got $42.000.00. the rest went in her pocket.
i found out the next day by mail that i had already been terminated. which meant i lost everything any way.
my boss the (harasser) was promoted and given a raise.
i have tried to get cettain papers from her but, she says they were returned to my employer(very large funeral home in atlanta area). when i asked her about talking to the people that would testify to my claims she said that she had not contacted them as of mediation.
now she claims she had talked to those people and that they said i lied. the all say she is lying and that she never contacted them.
she refused to answer any of my questions but claims she followed the law.
let's see how she feels whne she is reported to the ga state board.
NEVER LISTEN TO A LAWYER.........THEY WANT THERE MONEY AND COULD CARE LESS ABOUT WHAT HAPPENS TO YOU.

For whatever reason, I wanted to just comment and all I could find was the rebuttal so regardless, here goes. First, if this attorney called your former colleagues, she would have billed you for it. Either way, as your attorney, she should represent you, your desires, etc. She is to advise you, but to tell you a judge would not allow your case in court is complete BS. Look it up -- there are MANY sexual harassment suits before the courts. She obviously wanted to get it over with and get her money, since you apparently did this without paying her a reainer (she gets a percentage of your winnings). All civil cases in certain counties (including Fayette County) have to go to mediation BEFORE trial, but if nothing is accomplished in mediation, you go to trial. Also, anything that was given to her and was in your file is YOURS. She is required by the GA BAR to give you copies of anything and everything in your file if you want it. Report her for that because that is a big no no!!!
Not all lawyers are like this, but ms. Brown is. I know first hand. She is a real piece of work who makes it her business to pump as much money out of her clients as she can. Also, look up her recent attention in the media (whatever the Fayette County or Fayetteville newspaper is, I believe). She is no good!
