I recently applied for a job with swift trucking seeing how I dont have any experience let alone a CDL and require company sponsored training, I jumped through all of the hoops they have asked me to jump through including all required information regarding my backround.
A few weeks later I called them to see the status of my application which the last time I spoke to my recruiter she had me do their online academy which was very helpful. However my recruiter was very nice and helpful. when I called her to see what the status was of my application she said well.. it looks like they denied you employment at this time, I asked why, she said she didnt have that information so she transferred me to the manager of Investigations who wasnt very nice to begin with. I had asked what the reasoning behind the determination of my Denial all she could say as if it was all she knew in English was as Follows, sir, your informations was received and attached to your application and file. I asked her once more why I was denied same response, ok maybe 3rd time is a charm well same friggen response. I asked her once again and click she hung up on me. so I called back asking to speak with her supervisor and when she asked me why I wanted to speak with her supervisor I told her cause you hung up on me so Im filing a complaint. she quickly changed her statement to "I didnt hang up on you, the call was lost." I ask how can a call be lost on a land line to land line connection ? I thought maybe bad weather I checked clear blue skies in both states. so whoever wants to apply to swift BEWARE... they may deny you employment and not tell you.

I'll be pretty stupid to fall for their scare tactic. Guess what assholes it didn't work. I'll look pretty dumb if i believed any of this non sense. Why would somebody try to treat another human being like this & just make their live just plain miserable. To the point they kill themselves.

Hard to be slanderous when all I did is cut and copy and quoted what you posted earlier. I also provided links to the quote or cited the post that I quoted from the exact thread location. So Charles you know darn well its not slander if I copied your own words. Good luck on proving your own case to the website owner on that one there Charles.
Also while your are at it...tell them or direct them to the location where you stated that you want to harm yourself and/or others. Bet that will get the owners attention. Posted harm to oneself and/or others is a crime even when posted in a blog-like setting. If you don't believe me try threating the President of the United States of America here and see how long it takes for the secret service to be doing a meet and greet.

Those that like to...view Schneider National or Wal-Mart posting for the "truth" about Charles.
Charles is a racist pig about blacks and his filthy ideas about African-Americans. A terrorist (posted that he was going to harm folks or atleast himself in the Schneider National posting in mid-August 2011) and also a smart, intelligent person unlike his rants everywhere else on this site. Charles writes clear, understandable english in a post about claude-raptis (again look that up too).
Folks you will see that Charles is the biggest scam artist on this site; he has played all of us for fools thinking he is on SSI, high school graduate and living with his mother. The truth is far from that...he is an educated racist pig that trolls this site with his hate speech/thoughts and violated the website rules and various local, state and federal laws. He is only hoping to hide behind the shield of this site but the truth is that isn't happening any longer and he will get his "just desserts" (law enforcement term for those that commit a crime and later is convicted of such) soon now.

If an otherwise qualified applicant is turned down due to something like a credit score they have to be told that the reason was bad credit and then they can resolve that if necessary.
Also I am sure that if an an experienced trucker has been turned down that the employer must inform him/her that they were turned down based on the info on the report that truckers have on their background (sorry I just had a mind dump on that report).
This person applied with NO EXPERIENCE and stated that they would need company provided training. The easiest answer Swift can provide IF they elect to is to say there were others more qualified for the position. Also, I think if the OP looks closer that they would see that Swift does not hire people with NO EXPERIENCE since their training is more focused on training drivers the way that Swift wants them to do their jobs. Also Swift goes through a subsidiary to hire their drivers so they do not work directly for Swift anyway.

In OOIDA's LandLine edition, July 2011 issue; they discussed this in a paragraph...I will have to dig it back up but per FMCSA regulations...a potential employer does have to inform an applicant why he or she was denied when requested. I have to believe it has something to do with the fair credit reporting act that affects all of us via our credit reports and DAC reports. I will look up the article and repost the information asap and supporting documentation but if any of you can get the information sooner...then please post it here.

What makes you believe that they MUST tell you why they are not offering you a position or sponsored driving school.

Just a general question. Why do you feel you were entitled to an explanation? No company is ever obligated to give a reason for denying employment. Why do YOU think you were denied employment or training for that matter? Any traffic tickets?
If you check out this board for complaints about trucking companies you will see that many view this sponsored training as a form of indentured servitude.
If you are serious about getting a CDL see if any community colleges near you offer a CDL training program. These programs are often longer than the 3 week to month long classes that the trucking companies offer (as well as Roadmaster and other schools) but the class sizes are often smaller and you get more time behind the wheel before you take your test and you pay less than half as you would going to Roadmaster or other schools.
