I was ripped by the same $20 software rebate as several others and now my software suddenly expired to 0 days after only 2 months of the year subscription! Symantec refuses to reply to ANY contact.
After purchasing Symantec's Norton AV 2006 I submitted the rebate form and proper documents including the original UPC code and copy of my backup software (required). I did make a photocopy of all docs. Symantec sent this:
Unfortunately we could not honor your request due to the following reason(s):
$20 MIR NAV and TT or TC All required documents were not submitted
This is Bull! I submitted ALL required docs. What is this coded crap they are using. But it gets better. After resubmitting and complaining about their lousy excuse and refusal I find my online updates quit working recently because I have 0 days left on my subscription. And no one will reply to me from Symantec. So not only do I not have the $20 rebate, I am out the $39 or so I paid for it!
And did you know lots of entries remain in Windows registry after uninstalling a Symantec product? That's an unauthorized invasion and use of personal property. No wonder people pirate your software. It's not worth buying. You rip off legal users.
Symantec I am not done with you. BBB will be getting a complaint and I will send this rip to every place I can.
Never buy Symantec products! Support --- and other software companies.
