TigerDirect buys or starts rebate "fulfillment" companies that intentionally don't pay on some high double digit percentage of submitted rebates. Then they wait for you to complain sit on hold for up to 45 minutes per call -- multiple calls. Then, they finally get you in touch with someone who arranges to pay your rebate. That allows them to not pay enough to make this very profitable.
I actually went through this a couple years back. I ended up calling TigerDirect's corporate office and was connected with a VP who screamed at me "Tiger Direct is Great!". I laughed quietly since I wanted to see if I could get paid on the rebate. They paid by wire to a bank account. I setup a special bank account for this fiasco since I heard stories about them pulling money back after paying. I did get paid. I spent over 4 hours on phone calls and more time on here and keeping files on everything.
I don't agree with that VPs statement on the company. They change out the rebate companies every year or so to keep people from finding them on here. So, 4myrebate is probably going to go away soon enough.
For the few dollars you'll save, I hope you go shop somewhere else. I do not work for any retail vendor of anything or any company that competes with Tiger Direct.
I still have my files and can document every last bit of this.

Yes, they have a horrible way of working their rebates. Before I left, they had started the rebate program. I believe it was OnRebate.com. Prior to launching this program, I remember them pulling us in groups to meetings explaining the OnRebate.com program and making sure we were aware that we were not to tell anyone on the phones that OnRebate.com and Tigerdirect were the same and/or in the same building, which they were in the same room with sales. I remember colleagues who were recruited to that department would tell us how crooked it was. How they would be told at the beginning of one week to approve all rebate forms and the next week they would be instructed to decline all rebates forms, of coarse including the ones that were properly filled out and qualified for it. I also remember finding on the internet a legal issue about Tigerdirect reporting rebate funds as company profit in order to help the stock prices.
I'm glad you are taking action against them and I hope they get what they long have deserved.

I continue to welcome other's info interested in pursuing class action litigation, this is inexcusable business practice. While it's unlikely we'll be able to sustain a legal battle given the cost, the more people are empowerd, the greater the likelihood of success. Add your voice!
Please email me at ernie@help.tigerdirect.com with your Tigerdirect order number and rebate tracking information and I will be glad to assist you with your rebate.
Looking forward to hearing from you.

The offending companies committing the fraudulent behavior are 4myrebate.com, syx.com and tigerdirect.com.
Second, as tigerdirect.com actually offered this rebate, it's their name that should be showing up in the web searches. You'll never see or search for syx.com, or 4myrebate.com, or systemax.com. Althouth they are the parent company, what you should see is tigerdirect.com. Think twice before doing any business with tigerdirect.com.
Queries regarding Class Action litigation are welcome.
Picket action is being organzied in Miami at the Systemax office location, your support is encouraged and welcomed.
