Was sent bill for service I never requested! This company has nerve to bill you for service you never signed up for! I called my local carrier to check my services before and after chatting with a rep on line at www.talk.com. My local carrier tells me that none of my services have been changed even after a recent move in July of this year.

Local carrier tells me all my services have and still are the same since 1999. How does a scumbag comapany get away with doing this SLAMMING? The rep with Talk America kept telling me that my local carrier requested the service change at my request!!! What a crock. Then they threaten you by telling you that bill will be turned into a collection agency if I don't pay. Talk America tells me to pay them and get reimbursed from local carrier!

Hence, why I called local carrier again after chat with on line rep. I even checked local telephone bill and Talk America is not listed for providing any kind of services to my phone line. Well,I just got through filing a complaint with my state public services commision against Talk America. I hope this drt-bag company gets shut down for underhanded business practices like this.

I did work for them for 3 1/2 years and learned a lot while I was there.

I wanted to inform you that in some areas Talk America has to use a LD (PIC Code) through AT&T. So when your local carrier checks the switches, it will not show as Talk America, but as AT&T or another company's lines that they have to use. There are also 10-10 numbers (not sure if you use them) that can direct calls through Talk America and they can use that as a way to sumbit orders to your local carrier to switch your service.

I am not sure if you were referring to them switching just your long distance, but you can also have you local carrier place a PIC Freeze on your account. That is a freeze your long distance or local calling that cannot be removed unless you local carrier has your verbal or written consent.
