I have had MORE than my share of problems with this bank! Back in August, around the 13th or so, I lost a book of checks and call their "customer service" number to report this book stolen. I gave the reprensentative the exact numbers of the series of checks that were to be cancelled, 1 book, with number 1001-1029. Easy enough you would think, right? OF COURSE NOT!!!! The stupid woman cancelled not only those checks, but 4 checks from the beginning of the second book, causing 4 checks to have a stop payment on them. I was charged fees for these 4 checks, not from the bank, but from the companies I had written the checks to. I calmy went in to my local branch, where I was told that they "didn't record customer phone calls" and for all they knew I could have told them to cancel the four checks from the second book as well. WHY WOULD SOMEONE DO THAT???? HELLLLLLO? I gave specific instructions and never had the report mailed to me. I asked the bank for a letter stating it was their error and because they had no "proof" they would only give me a generic letter stating the I had stopped payment on these 4 checks in addition to what I had actually requested. So, there are $120 fees that I have to pay OUT OF MY OWN POCKET.
Now, today 2 months later, I placed a stopped payment on a check because I decided to give someone cash rather than have them cash a check I had written. A few days ago, I call and have the stop payment placed on this check, am charged a $33 fee for doing so and figure that's it...no problem. I go online yesterday to find out that the bank allowed the check to pass through anyways. I again call their "CUSTOMER SERVICE" and am told that the check was being returned and the money credited to my account. FINE. So, today I go back to check to make sure the money has been placed back in my account, only to find that they did that, but also charged me $165 in bank fees, returned 4 checks because they overdrew my account for letting the check that was supposively stopped go through, AND charged me another $33 in addition to the stop payment fee that I previously paid. GO FIGURE!!!! I call customer service yet AGAIN and I'm told that since it was not a "BANK ERROR" (are you kidding me)....they wrote down the check amount was for $277.00 instead of $277.50..and told me that I somehow must have given them the wrong amount...yet I had a CARBON COPY of the check sitting right in front of me when I gave it.....anyways, since they could not prove that it was their fault, they were only going to reverse $99 of the fees and it was my job to contact these four businesses that the checks were written to and find out what to do. Now, I'm probably going to be charged another $120 in fees for their stupidity. So let's figure this all out....in 2 months time I have had to be $305 OUT OF MY POCKET for bank fees, returned checks, etc. because the people this bank employs are incompetent and apparently DEAF. They are supposed to send a copy of their "REPORT" to your address...and neither time that I have put in a request to have changed made to my account have I received ANYTHING from them...except grief and headache when I go to backtrack their mistakes. I will be getting an attorney involved very shortly because their is absolutely NO EXCUSE for this. My best advice to you, DONT BANK WITH THIS ESTABLISHMENT!!!! You're better off going to a check cashing place and paying their fee, and paying your bills with money orders. You'll save A LOT MORE!!!!!!!!
