I have NEVER experienced such deceptive and poor customer service. I initally called early last week to insure my account balance. I was lied to, twice. I have been charged over $110 as of this writing. When I called back yesterday, I spoke to a man named Juan who promised me he would call me back within 2 hours. He did not. When I called TCF back today, I was treated rudely by a lady named Kerrie. I asked to speak to her supervisor, and was connected with Roxanna. I explained my situation and, while I was speaking with her, she emailed Juan. Juan emailed her back, while she was on the phone with me,  and apologized for not contacting me but promised that he would call me back today, most likely tonight. I told Roxanna that if Juan had simply told me that he didn't have the time to call me back yesterday, everything would be fine. I told Roxanna this twice. I was assured he would call me back today. He did not. This is the WORST BANK I have ever been involved with. Do not do business with these people. I am closing out my account as soon as it settles.

Who's Account Is This?

AUTHOR: Jim - (USA)

This is YOUR account, right?  Any of the money in the account is all yours, right?  Do you think you should know how much you have in the account without you needing to call them?  You have $110 in overdraft fees, correct?  At the time the item hit the bank what was the balance?  What's that???  You don't know???  Why not???  Why?  Because YOU don't keep a check register.  YOU don't keep a running balance, do you?  Right this very second you can't tell me what the balance is because you haven't the foggiest of clues!  So go ahead and quit this bank, then go to another and keep using the card WITHOUT keeping a running balance, run up overdraft charges at the new bank, then come back here and complain about them too.  Then you can whine about how the big bad banks are out to get the "little" people.  Here's how you never become one of the "little people".  You keep a written record of every use of the card, every use of a check and you subtract the amount every time from the existing balance and keep a RUNNING BALANCE.  Then the next time, if you want to spend $75 on groceries and you see your RUNNING BALANCE is only $45, you buy only $40 of groceries and avoid the overdraft fee.  Bottom line is there's no tricky accounting here.  There's no fraud or conspiracy here either.  ANY and ALL of these cases of people wailing about overdraft fees are caused by ONE and ONLY ONE reason--THEY FAIL TO KEEP A CHECK REGISTER AND RUNNING BALANCE!  Instead, because they are so-o-o-o lazy, they just check the "balance" on line or by phone WHICH IS NOT ACCURATE.  The bank even tells you that!  And no, I don't work for them.
