I was looking for a job on craigslist. Well, shady
businesses/people love to take advantage of us young people on craigslist, dont

So, It was hard to find a job in San Diego, and teaching
english overseas seemed like a good idea. I had a degree from a good
university, and the certificate would enable me to find a job overseas, right?
The ad made the process seem so easy.

Well guess what? After months of studying, and putting time
and effort into this course, nothing. Teaching english overseas is saturated.
The salaries were laughable. TESOL Training International had fabricated the
salaries of different countries on their books. The indicated salaries were
Much Higher than actual.

This school took my money and will not give it back. They double
charged me initially, as if I was stupid enough to Not see the double charge on
my bank statement? OH, I didn't see that TESOL Training International, here is
an extra 600 bucks!

It is true that they 'connected' me with recruiters from
overseas. But, anyone can do that. There was no Real connections they gave. The
recruiters talked to me, on and off, I went through several loopholes. Getting
passports authenticated, Degree authenticated, etc, etc. A national background
check takes 2 months to clear! All this time and money to no avail.

The "career services" section was one overworked
girl in her 20's, handling thousands of files. They only had one worker in
there to cut costs. Shame on you TESOL Training International!

TESOL Training International has a "Job Guarantee"
on their website. But guess what, the slithery owner will find multiple excuses
not to honor it. OH, "we connected you with that recruiter and you spoke
to them, we did our job. You cannot get your money back."

This school should be inspected and brought to justice by
the Better Business Bureau. There were many other innocent young people in the
course with me, most likely taken advantage of as well. These predatory
institutions keep hurting the youth of our country, all for the dollar.
Students, beware!

So why then?

AUTHOR: Glenn - ()

Since this woman, Yelda has commented on this student, I have a question for her.

I am wondering if she can explain the 12+ other complaints listed on the BBB.org website regarding services, or billing/collection issues.

Or is she going to say that the fathers of the other people who complained also do this all the time?

I mean, you can explain away maybe one or two, but when you've got twelve of them, that's a pattern of questionable business practices that leaves me to wonder about this company even if I chose to ignore the original complaint posted here.

Maybe she can explain the BBB's 'average' (B-) report on this company.

Sorry, but I really have to wonder about this company myself.

TESOL Training International

AUTHOR: Yelda - ()

My name is Yelda, and I worked for TESOL Training International.  Unlike what this person said I had 4 people helping me.  This student Ryan came in without an appointment which is fine if they need a simple thing done. He got a few job offers from South Korea and Taiwan.  I looked at the contracts briefly and took out his file.  In his future teaching work-up it said that he wanted to go to Korea.  I showed him this, and he decided  to take one of the positions that he was offered.  He signed the contract.

A few weeks later, I got a call from Sung Hee Kim from the school in Korea asking where he was.  I said he should be in Korea as that school bought him an airplane ticket.  She said he was not on the plane and that she spent $1233 for the ticket.  I called (Ryan) and he did not answer.

A week later, he came to the office again with no appointment, and asked for a refund.  I said no.  He said, I did not take the job.  I said you signed a contract, agreed to take the job and due to the fact that you did not even tell our partner that you were not going so she could have gotten some of her air ticket money, we can not offer him a refund.

I spoke with his father and his father 100% agreed with me and said that this is something his son does on a regular basis.
