DO NOT EVEN CONSIDER "THE AIRLINE ACADEMY" ..OUT OF POCKET EXPENSE OF $7000 AND U NEED TO UPFRONT 10% of that only if u have the money to do that. and your salary starts at $25,000 and (may)
go to $100,000..this is what he says??

Been in the Customer Service industry for 10 plus years.....and...if you are going to school..someone needs to pick up the tab...NOT a lot of people have $700 to throw down the toilet.

Plus all the other hotel charges...etc..

Charging Tuition=A Scam?

AUTHOR: The Airline Academy Admin. - (United States of America)

After reading your report, it took me some time to identify your actual complaint. It seems that Mr. Hebert interviewed you as a
prospective student for our program but that you were unable to meet the financial requirements.  I am sorry to hear this because we go to great lengths to ensure that no one is eliminated from our program due to financial hardship.

Our goal is to get people, like you, working in a secure and rewarding career as quickly as possible with as little cost to you as possible.  This is something we do very well. While we wish we could provide this service for free oras you say, pick up the tab, for all of our students educationsif we did so, we would soon be out of business ourselves and would be unable to help anyone at all.

We are a private school. Naturally, we charge tuition. $6,975 covers the cost of our 12 lesson distance learning curriculum done from your home, 4 week resident training at the Daytona Beach International Airport, 3 day hands-on flight attendant indoctrination conducted at JetBlue University in Orlando conducted by JetBlue instructors on JetBlue equipment and simulators, and lifetime job placement assistance.

Ocean-front motel accommodations, including daily transportation to and from class, are available for $797.50 for students wishing to make use of this option. (For a full explanation of our program and costs, view our course catalog online at:

We offer several payment options to our students including: cash, guaranteed in-house financing at 6% interest, credit-based SallieMae Smart Options Career Training Loans, all major credit cards, and state/county level grants (available in select regions). Additionally, we have a very equitable refund policy for those who find themselves unable to continue with the training due to unforeseen circumstances.

Finally, while I do understand that weathering our countrys current economic climate can be difficult and highly discouraging, I am troubled by your choice to, aggressively, warn others against our program based on your personal financial situation rather than on anything we, or our representative, Mr. Hebert, did wrong. Even so, if this is an opportunity you still want to pursue, please contact our administrative offices at 800-797-0202 so that we can more fully explore financing options, which might work for you. If not, we wish you success with whatever path you choose to pursue.
