Have banked with this bank for 36 years. Formally was City National Bank of Sylacauga. As I understand now they have been purchased by some huge company and the name is now THE BANK. They have offices in Warrior, Alabama, Birmingham, Alabama, and Florida. I feel I have been charged excessive fees. For example, I had one check made payable to Big Lots for $59.00. This check was returned by The Bank. It was then turned over to a check recovery agency. The check was presented 5 times for payment and I was charged $30.00 each time by THE BANK, as well as paying the check recovery system a $30.00 charge for the check. This has happened many times. Just wondered if anyone else has has the same experience with THE BANK. When it was locally owned, it was not a problem.

Before you bad mouth the bank, maybe you should go after the real culprit. It was the Agency that submitted the check 5 times. The bank has no control over how many times a company will submit a check. Most companies stop after 2 times but that is their discretion.
Instead of complaining about the bank go after the company that caused your real problem. The bank charges for an overdraft EACH tims someone submits a check for payment.

Can you tell me for what reason they returned the check? Did it come back NSF?
