The Mobile Solution is evil.

Got a two phone deal from TMS on September 17th, 2004. I am 28 years old and this was my first cell phone - what can I say...I was a holdout. One phone was for me, the other for a friend who actually works for this god forsaken company. In any case, all was going well for a couple of months, and then on December 6th, 2004, my friend got permission from both AT&T and TMS to switch to an employee plan. No possible repercussions were shared by anyone (but reading everyone else's complaints...I'm not surprised).

Fast forward to June 5th, 2005. Got home from a trip and decided to check my checking account balance online since I hadn't been able to in nearly a week. Much to my horror, I discovered that TMS had taken $800 from my checking account (two separate $400 charges) on June 2nd. I first contacted both AT&T and Cingular. They could find nothing in my entire history that would warrant such a charge. I then contacted lovely Dawn (reread the last five words with a great deal of sarcasm) who is the "charge back" lady for Wisconsin. She immediately discovered that one of the charges was a mistake and, *in theory*, has refunded it (although it still hasn't shown up in my account). Regarding the second charge, she claims it was for "something" that happened on December 6th - the day my friend switched to the *approved* employee plan. Sure, that was well within the 180 day "no changes allowed" policy. But, alas, they told him it was okay to switch from the current plan to that one.

My big beefs with all this s*** is that:
1. They stole my money seven months after the alleged breach of contract.
2. They gave me no notice or warning, and I gave no authorization.
3. Dawn says she called the carriers to confirm the December 6th transgression and, mysteriously, AT&T couldn't find me in their system (although I talked to them earlier in the day and they had no problem finding me) and Cingular's records at the time only went back to, get this...December 9th. In other words, she has absolutely no evidence to prove that this charge should stick.

As soon as I get that $400 back, I am changing my account number. And as soon as my contract expires (actually, three days after, just to play it safe), I am cancelling my service and running far, far away from Cingular. Granted, the robbing of my checking account wasn't Cingular's fault, per se, but I do not want to go through a company that will condone TMS's behavior.

What really sucks is that I got my last paycheck from my job three days before they charged me and I don't get another one until August 31st (I am a graduate student w/ an assistanceship at a university). The timing couldn't be worse since they essentially took half the money I was going to live on.

TMS can burn in h**lll!
