I bought a dvd burner from tigerdirect on July 2nd. Looked like a good deal:$76.55 out the door with a 20 dollar rebate, so my price for the dvd burner would have been only $39.97, $11.57 s/h,
$5.01 in tax. All that was fine. Now here is where they f*@# you. They tell you to go to a non functioning website, onrebate.com where nothing happens.

You put in your info (probably sold for spam judging by the people I have encountered)and wait for an email that never comes, then you send them an email that is supposed to be responded to within 72 hours. Don't hold your breath. Needless to say it never comes. So on to the next level of frustration. Check out the blatant lies. I call Tigerdirect on the 3rd of July to find out about my rebate. The guy who answered told me no problem with not being able to claim my rebate at onrebate.com. He would send one in the mail.

On the 9th, I called back to check on my rebate to make sure it was sent out. So I spoke to another rep, told him I ordered a dvd burner on the second and I wanted to check the status. The guy that I was talking to said oh yea I see they sent your rebate out on the second. I told him he was lying because I did not call to inquire about the rebate until the 3rd. He then said oh I see it was sent out on the 6th. I went on to tell him about all the complaints on the rip off report that I had seen and wanted to make sure I'm not getting screwed. He assured me there would be no problem, so I wait a week and call again. They tell me at this point yes it was taken care of. Mail is not that slow in this country..

I wish that was the end of the deception but it's not. So I call again, being as persistent as I am. The first guy I spoke to finally came out and told me they don't send out the rebates and can't. (So dont let them tell you that lie either) Since I was calling to complain that they did not send me a rebate form, and that what they did send me was the f*@#ing web address to onrebates non working site. Same worthless info that I already had and that's the only reason that bit of truth came from the company of liars. The man that finally came clean with some truth then reverted back to the lies when I was directed to customer service for onrebate at 1-888-222-9300. (Feel free to call to see if I'm nothing more than a liar also).

The number is a short message with instructions that are proven not to work. Email is the only way to reach the people behind the scam who never respond to the emails. So after wasting more time calling for no reason I call back to tigerdirect and get yet another well trained truth hider who will not shut up and listen, tried to talk over me the whole time. I eventually cursed him out and hung up on. Prior to our pissing match I told him what took place. He went on to say they do not honor the rebates because they don't issue them, only offer them and will not honor the rebate if onrebate does not.

Completly opposite of what I was originally told. So my word of advice is if you see an ad from tigerdirect or onrebate stay away and buyer beware. Please respond with some arrogant reply like you have in the past to other people who have posted complaints. It does not change the fact that if you keep fuc#ing people it will eventually catch up with you. I am also sending a copy of this letter to the Attorney General of the State of Florida. Hopefully they will launch an investigation against tigerdirect and on rebate.com.
