When we serviced his vehicle - 2007 Hyundai Sonata for and oil change, the technician notes that the oil fill cap was turning freely when he was loosening it up. The oil fill cap is a part that is loosened up by hand. If you turn it to the right , it will loosen up and if you turn it counterclockwise it will tighten up.
It also makes a ratcheting sound when it is tight enough.
When we were loosening up the oil fill cap, the technician noticed that the oil fill cap was just turning and not loosening up. Mr. Luckett was in the shop and so we showed it to him and told him that the cap is showing signs of wear because it is turning freely when you loosen it up.
Tim Strobel, the store manager told him we could still get the cap off by pushing it up while we were turning. That is what we did . We finished the oil change and told Mr. Luckett that we can get him a new oil fill cap for $8.00. He declined .
On 7/29/12, Mr. Luckett called Tim the store manager and said he was able to get the oil fill cap for $5.00 and said he will never come back and hung up.
I certainly understand his frustration over this. It is very unfortunate for us to loose a customer like Ed. We could have done something about this if the communication lines were opened. We have been in business since 1988 and we are proud of how we serve our customers. If there was something shady about my character, I wouldn't be in business for that long.
