Wow I live here( I am a Tupper Laker, not Lakeian) and I am addicted to it like Michelle. Unfortunatly, it only makes me sad to realize how many people here think its funny to come on here amd make themselves and our town look ridiculous. Heres a little tip for all of you who feel the need to air your dirty laundry.....type your comment, essay, ect. in word perfect and run a spell check, then copy and paste. At least then it would be like reading Springer instead of an ad for Hooked on Phonics.

I am going to veer from that and add that while crime is on the rise its still a better place to raise your children than other places I have lived. So far, knock on wood, no one has found a 16 year old living in their basement and offering sexual favors to stay alive( at least I don't think so cause it hasn't been posted on here..lol). Yes I did have that happen to me when I lived in city.

I think I am going to give up the 30 mins I spend reading this site and volunteer that time teaching a literacy class down at Old Northern Pub.

I have lived here a long time. I know the scum puppies and they know me. I appreciate you're suggestion, however, per capita, this is still a safe place. Much better than Houston or Durham NC. Thank you.

Just in case that last post didn't come across right (tone and sarcasm are hard to portray via type) let me say this...

I am sure Tupper Lake is a nice town - most of that area of New York is absolutely beautiful. But, as an outsider reading all the rants and raves about Tupper Lake, you should be able to understand why the image of your town is so tainted. There are a lot of people there that seem to be, how should I put it, not as reserved as others may be. Never have I seen any board so saturated about one location in the world as Tupper Lake. I have to admit, I find it intriguing that there seems to be so much controversy, scandal, etc, but unlike other places that have the same problems, some people of Tupper Lake air it all out for the world to see. I know you want to defend your town and decency, but you have to admit, some of the stories on here are quite outrageous!

Yes, I can admit, I am a rubber-necker when there are accidents on the road...I like to hear a good gossip story now and again.....and yes, I am fascinated by the Tupper Lake stories. No, I am not obsessed, no I do not come here running and looking for a daily dose...but when I see a story, I do read it and chuckle, gasp, whatever - depending on the situation.

I hope you do not take offense to any of it from anyone, Gary. I am absolutely sure there are numerous (most likely the majority) of people in Tupper Lake are good, honest, decent people. Unfortunately, the ones we see the most on this board tend to be more at the other end of the spectrum....and a bit more WILD ;o)

Gary, I hope you realize that I am not in fact in LOVE with the town - I find it to ne the most twisted situation on this planet. In fact, if it weren't for ED I would assume that the whole place was fictional and made up for some comic relief.

If I met anyone that said they were from Tupper Lake, I think I might run far far away. I apologize to all the normal people there - but - I am afraid of running into a few of the more colorful characters you have.

I am so sure that there is nothing going on in you'r world,that you need to feed on us Tupper Lakeins. Yes we have our share of Buttheads but at least they are some what computer literate. Scary thought. I LOVE THIS TOWN !!!!! Do you feel like you have to lock you'r doors at night? I do not! Yes we have our scum, but we are safe.
