In June 0f 2008, I was sold, by very persuasive telephone salesman ,from Tafiti Consulting, a 8 week intensive course on 'internet marketing'.
I was told that I would be engaged in a proactive 8 weeks intensive training program, followed by on going support for as long as I found it necessary.
I was told that I would be set up as an E-bay seller immediately so as to start generating an income. I was told to look around my house to see what I did not want and could sell!
The next step would be that they would help build me a website, link me to a dropshipper, submit it to the search engines and generate a high search rating.
I was told that I was likely to get my money back by way of profits in 1 to 3 months.
I was told that I would receive full written details of the course and that they would be 'holding my hand all the way' even to the point of taking over my computer screen to show me first hand exactly what to do when necessary.
I was told that there would be a manual and software to accompany the course which would be posted to me.
All I had in 4 weeks was 2 phone calls, 1 of which I requested, and have been given access to their software instructional videos. The first call, 'Matt' of the 'green team' talked me through on how to raise my Ebay buyer rating by buying several $1.00 items that he showed to me on Ebay. I purchased the items, and lo and behold, the next day the items were cancelled by Ebay stating that "The removal may be part of a separate action taken by eBay that is unrelated to the listing itself. " I was a bit leery at the time, and now I know why.
On the subject of the videos, those which I have watched have not been of very good quality, have varying and poor sound, and some do not look very professional! Some cant be paused and have no timescale so you dont know how long to allow.
I believe that similar instructional materials can be obtained on the web for free or at little cost. The software they sent me by download does not work on my Vista system, as they say it should.
No company information about Taffiti Consulting is available on their website.
I did not receive the written information package promised and tried to cancel payment through my credit card company.
I paid $5000 by credit card and have only had a few phone calls which have given me no benefit at all. Their website training can only be seen (by an access code) once you have paid and contains very poor quality videos and information freely available on the net.
I complained to my credit card company and they refunded me whilst 'investigating'. I am still awaiting a final result.
I have had nothing of any value for my money and after getting nowhere they have cut me off from access to the site and do not respond to e-mails.
The only guarantee they offer is to keep me on the training program till I make back all the money I spent to take the course.
Interestingly, today I recieved an email from them congratulating me on my successful completion of their course ( which I have not taken ) and offering continuing email support for another 8 weeks. What a scam.......
Lost big time.....
