Looking for jobs online - Be Careful of Scams
Talent6 - Search for Talent
I received several emails (and saw several job posts) from a company called Talent6 offering an opportunity to make extra cash as "movie extras". I called the company to see what their pitch was. Within the first minute, the guy says "for a one-time fee of $45, you get your listing and digital photo shoot, and we guarantee to place you in a job and if not you get your $$ back". You should not have to pay anything to get a job anywhere, unless you are starting your own business or investing in one.
I asked where they were located, and he said "South San Francisco, CA". Upon doing a Google search of their name, I found this site and MULTIPLE postings from folks that were taken advantage of by Talent6.
This company is using valid job search websites to take advantage of people seeking an employment opportunity.
Don't fall for it.

You hit it dead on when you said you shouldn't have to pay to get a job unless you are starting your own business or investing in one. Even so, there are many scams out there run by people that charge for people just to receive information.
Great care needs to be taken when looking for work off the internet, especially at home jobs. Scammers can and will take advantage of single moms, disabled people, senior citizens, low-income familes, and anyone else who seems desperate to earn a living from home. That's why this site is so important. If you are thinking of joining any type of business or applying for a job, type the company name and see if any reports were filed. Also google them. Most importantly, if it sounds to good to be true, it probably is.
