Was contacted by Talk America via an email offer. Offer stated, "Absolutely free, 4 free airline tickets just for trying Talk America", the offer then went on to outline what wonderful services they had to offer with "free unlimited calling, free long distance, free call waiting, free call forwarding, free caller id and much more!" ...Click HERE...when you "click here" it takes you to a page that "evaluates" your phone useage and goes on to yet another page that shows you the "better" plan they can give you. Well...I bit....went through a couple more pages signing up then got a "welcome" email that said I needed to make a third party verification call but that that operator could answer no questions regarding services. Well, after I received my first bill I called to see how I get my "free airline tickets", at first the Director of E-Commerce, M. Hodge, was very helpful but then after three months of my calling he decided to back out and tell me the only way for me to get the tickets offerred was for me to purchase additional hotel/cruise package accomodations. The offer in no way made reference to any add ons or "strings attached", when I told him I would take this to the Attorney General and file a report he got angry and told me, "TA does not respond to threats..file your report"..I did the SAME day AND dropped their service. When I initially signed up it was for their 19.95 package wich totalled $41.00 a month... love their crafty billing practices too. Jana Ionia, Michigan
