Do not buy from Tarbeary Kennels. When the pup arrived, she had entropian. Brandy Deines, the breeder said that was completely acceptable. The entropian eventually resulted in necessary eye surgery. I eventually had the pups hips tested and the result was a 20% PennHip score. I contacted Brandy and requested a refund of the pup price and would agree to lose the cost of medical care, testing, and shipping. She refused and said she would send a replacement pup at her expense. Big mistake on my part agreeing to the replacement pup. It took forever to get the pup. She kept claiming "my" pup had heart problems or died and so I would have to wait until the next litter. When the pup finally arrived, she was covered in feces in a kennel that had rust on all of the bolts. This replacement pup had even more problems than the last one, heart murmur, entropian, underbite, and a hernia. Again, she claimed not her fault since the veterinarian gave a clearance on the pup prior to shipping and in her words "all of these things the pup will grow out of." Completely false. Not only do I have to medically correct the entropian and hernia at my expense, I now have a pup with a heart murmur that cannot be corrected. First time... shame on her... Second time.... shame on me. It would have been cheaper for me to cut my losses on the first pup (which I'm sure she had hoped I would do) and not take another sick pup. My veterinarian felt so bad for me he offered to correct the pups entropian and hernia surgery at half of his cost. That was wonderful for him to offer... but why should he or I pay for her poor quality pup?

I took the pup to the veterinarian to get the hernia repaired and the entropian. My vet said once he shaved the pup down, he realized the hernia had already been repaired previously. Imagine my surprise when Brandy Deines had told me in her e-mails that she had NO KNOWLEDGE of a hernia. Brandy not only knowingly places sick dogs, she then lies about it. Her dishonesty is disgusting and I hope to never see another dog with Tarbeary Kennels associated with it, including in the pedigree.
