Attempted to do 30 different transactions. The cashier complained a little, but completed 22 of the 30 before a manager approached to see what was going on. When they saw that the item we were buying had a coupon to get it free she stopped the cashier and said "You cant empty the shelf". My wife told her that we didn't, so she then said well according to store policy we can limit you to 10 transactions. My wife said "Well these are already done" and the manager said "I can just undue them". I then informed her that I had read the policy earlier in the day and she is incorrect and I would like her to show me the policy and then she said "I manage a Target store so I know the policies and I don't have to show you anything, you can take the 10 or I can just ask you to leave". I then told her thats not very good customer service and she is welcome to take that action if she would like to. She then called a security guard to come over and keep an eye on us until we take our 10 items and leave. I again have read the policy and it has nothing in it that has transaction or coupon limits, the coupon's limit was 1 per item and limited to stock on hand. I had done this at another store with 28 transactions. Since the transactions were already completed I feel like the stole my stuff back. I would think Target policy would be blanketed across all their stores. That manager managed to save them $40.00 today but will cost them approximately $5000.00 every year that I don't shop there.

Thats a good scam but

AUTHOR: mr rik - (USA)

you need to be considerate of others in line and make multiple trips.  This may keep you from getting caught like this as well.

People like you is why I had to leave groceries on the floor and walk out of one of these places.

ok

AUTHOR: Stacey - (U.S.A.)

So did you hold up the line going back and forth getting more of one item?? What type of item was this that you needed?? I suggest you read your report again and see how it really sounds - there is a reason for xx amount of items per person.

Why are you buying that much of anything anyway? Leave some product for someone else.

Every day Joe

AUTHOR: Jeff - (U.S.A.)

I'm not an extreme coupon person, just your average Joe. Let me explain a little further. I bought an item with my normal purchases and when they handed me the receipt it came with a coupon. I then went and got a couple more to see if the coupons would print again even though it was free. It did. I then read the store policy and the policy written right on the coupon and nothing states any kind of limit other than they have to be purchased one at a time. I then went and got some more of this item and the manager of the store was called over and she said if the machine keeps printing them then its ok for the cashier to do it. I then went to a different store for unrelated matters and thought I would try it again. I have no problem with limits. The problem I have is that the manager made up her own policy and even though 22 tranactions were completed decided to take back 12 of them. I had receipts in hand and items in the bag. At that point they were my property even though I hadn't yet left the store. And to top it off, thought she needed to call security just because I told her she was wrong about the policy. Talk about defensive.

Pretty standard

AUTHOR: Robert - (U.S.A.)

It is pretty standard for stores to "limit quantities".  They do that so that EVERY customer has a chance to get the items.  The fact that one store did stop you and one store didn't is NOT a RipOff.

Being as nice as possible you "extreme coupon" people need some psychological help.  Is saving money good..yep.  Are coupons a very good way to do this..you bet.  But do you really need to get 200 bottles of mustard(or what ever you were buying) and 1000 rolls of toilet paper just because you have coupons?

And yes you will probably come back with "I do this all the time", "I don't empty the shelves(of course you say this one while leaving 5-6 and "buying" 50), "You have no idea what I am do with them", or my favorite "you are just upset that I got to the items before you did".

But again the fact that the store decided to stop you from doing 30 transactions because you want to get multiple quantities is NOT a ripoff.

You probably cost them $5,000 in labor and complaints from other customers while they are doing 58 separate transactions so I don't think they would be sorry to see you go.
