Group of criminals scamming everyone and changing names when the BBB or Department of Transportation revokes or disbars them!!
Look up these names in the Better Business B., they last at most about 1-1 1/2 years and the complaints range from 12-55 for each name ranging from holding items hostage, service issues, damages, lost/stolen items, BREAKING FEDERAL LAWS!
How is the LAW letting these guys get away with this year after year. The group basically consists of all relatives (Kramerman's and Peretz's) who scam you then close up shop, change address', disconnect phone numbers, etc.
My incident included starting off with A Professional Move out of California and then getting, unfortunately, pushed off onto Target Vanlines who was in my local area of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.
After finally getting a date set, calling disconnected numbers (being told they do not know what number i was calling, this being the number listed on a sticker on the bill of lading with their name) and several lies, also scrambling when the movers showed up without calling or any warning, my move was finally on its way... or so I thought.
First, they did not know where my load was, then I had a second pick-up which was no problem until the cliche excuse of "OUR TRUCK BROKE DOWN" came up for the second time, leaving me stranded at my second destination for a week solid until Target Vanlines contracted a half rate mover from Orlando to pick up my storage belongings. So now my things are on two different trucks and I am told by JOEY or JOESEPH (who told me he was the owner, then the dispatcher, then the supervisor, then to disguising his voice all together when I would call!) that he would pay for everything and it was there fault and he would compensate for my lost time and hotel.
Me and my family, thinking the horror was over, decided to move on to our location in Ohio. We wait a week there before hearing or getting in contact with anyone, Joey finally calls us at 10 o'clock at night telling us the mover will be there in a day or so, no time.
This whole time we kept calling Joey asking for the weight, a price, any info on our things, we gave him several fax numbers and he lied saying he faxed them but the hotel told us everytime nothing was coming through.
The mover shows up the next morning at 7:30 am (no call or warning) at my door ready to go. They slap down this recession form stating I owe TRIPLE of 75% of the billed (my quote was $1600, I had given them $1200 already) they said I owed them $1900 cash right then and there or they cant open the truck. (Being the way I am I had already read the whole rights and responsibilities booklet given and researched online about moving and federal laws, so with a non-binding estimate I only owed 110% of the cost in order to get my things and the monies was supposed to be based on weight NOT CUBIC FEET!)
In ending, my mother had to end up on the step of the truck begging the driver not to pull away with out things (The driver, he was slightly off, ends up telling me that Joey told them to tell me that they were going to get coffee and just leave and to dump our things somewhere), we call the cops to come and both drivers got very scared and shaky which leads me to believe they obviously have some hidden issues or no green card? The cop ends up telling them they have to take our payment, which they finally did and we got our things.
Not only was one of the most stressful things of my families lives (my elderly grandmother had to be taken to the doctor, my mother almost had nervous breakdown, and me with ulcers) crying yourself to sleep, the money spend and wasted on being stuck in town and the contstant lies and mistreatment THIS GROUP SHOULD BE PUT OUT OF BUSINESS AND PUT IN JAIL!!
I am willing to be a part of the class action lawsuit, if still being set up, please contact me immediately.
ALSO, BY LOOKING UP TARGET VANLINES, INC. AND THEN FINDING ZIP TO ZIP MOVING AND STORAGE (ALSO, ZIP TO ZIP VANLINES) WAS ONLY A TOP LAYER OF THIS SCAM, LOOK IT UP ONLINE, BBB, DEPART OF TRANSPO, ETC. AND YOU WILL SEE WHAT THE TRUTH IS!
