In 1996 my wallet was stolen. A report was filed and a $1000 minimal credit card was in the wallet. The other cards were expeditiously stooped; one card was not due to the company's lack if due diligence in making certain the card was flagged. Remember this was pre- personal computer era! I had no problems with any other company; have made purchases requiring credit checks and never had an issue. Now in 2012 a letter comes demanding thousands of dollars from this entity. You call the number because that's what responsible people do and they answer..."What?"interesting Yes...no identifying greeting....just "What?"interesting huh? The male didn't give his name, threatened to call me "until I made payment arrangements" everything he isn't supposed to do. If they file for a judgment, I'll go to court with my proofs. I would not give them ANY information.....let a court decide. Next complaint is to the BBB, they have a rating but it is based on years in existence...121 complaints in three (3)years...some professional agency. When people call where you work just try answering "What?"interesting and then threaten the caller...see where it gets you. Share nothing, rebut their allegations in writing and block their number. It's easy money if you share bank info, etc. Good luck.
