I needed my network updated and a new web server setup. I also wanted to see about getting a web site designed. A friend of mine recommended them.
When I made my appointment they asked me to give them all the information on my network, new web server and my web site requirements. I gave them all the specifics of my network. Everything about the web server, and the complete specs on the web site I need. I even emailed them everything.
My appointment was for a specific time, but they were more than three hours late. They didn't bother to call, email or anything to let me know they were going to be late. When they got there they realized they forgot something and had to go get it. I would think with being that late they should have everything. They did get the network somewhat updated. They actually just spent 30 minutes doing a few items anyone could do. They told me couldn't get the web server setup, and they'd need to reschedule. I then asked about the web site design. They said they didn't know about needing a web site designed they'd get back with me on that. I told them I would just find someone else. Then I got the bill. They billed me for six hours. I called and asked where they got it took six hours. The owner Matt Locke informed me that sometimes things take longer than you realize. I informed him even if they got their on time they wouldn't have spent six hours. He said that they designed a web site and that took some time. I informed them they never designed a web site for me.
I ended up going with another company. The other company was on time and very professional. When I talked to them they didn't try to make me feel like they were doing me a favor. They informed me that Tech Strategies didn't perform the necessary updates. They said all they could see they did was install software to make it easy to make it easy for them to get onto my system. They charged me less than the bill I have from Tech Strategies, and I even got a new web site. The second company told me they hadn't met anyone like the work that Tech Strategies. He said in the IT community of Nashville if you mention Tech Strategies and the owner, that people laugh and say they haven't went out of business yet.
I ended up asking my friend why the recommended them. He said the owner was a friend, and he was just trying help him out. I told him he never needed to recommend him again. He said the owner always wants to make you feel like he did you a favor, and was never on time for anything. He said he hoped since the individual owned a company he would be different. I said no he is not.
