i feel like that i hae been a vicatim of their sistem. i can write 5 to 9 checks and then for no good reason it starts declining them. this is very embarrasing, i feel like they are harassing me and targeting this account. i would like to know what they can do about this matter. they have not been able to resolve this matter in 2 years. i would like it to stop.

age of the dinosaur

AUTHOR: Sgtjoebear - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, August 03, 2009

I didn't know anyone still wrote checks. obviously you have a checking account, try using your debit or check card. While in Europe in the Marine Corps, Checks do not exist mostly it is all electronic or cash. One day the U.S. will stop using checks and you or vendors will not have to worry about bounceing paper ll

The process of refuseing your checks is a way to help you from theft and the vendors as well. Just like a credit card company will block a card or call you if you start odd spending limits.

Check Approval..

AUTHOR: Robert - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, July 13, 2009

From your description you were not declined for "No Reason". You were probably declined for writing too many checks. TeleCheck(and others) are a Check Guarantee system to the retailers that use their service. As a result if you have too many checks in a short period of time(or over a certain amount), they will decline your checks for a period of time.

This is really no different than a bank setting the limit on your daily Debit Card usage. Just as that is for your protection in case someone steals your card the loss can be minimized, they are protecting the store against checks coming back as bad. Please note I am NOT saying that you would or ever have done this, this is just the approval guidelines they have come up with over the many years, and your account is handled the same as anyone else. Unless you are trying to "float" funds, there is nothing that says you can't use your Debit Card or Cash for your purchases instead. But if you are floating funds, this will eventually come back and catch up with you.

Limit

AUTHOR: Ashley - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, July 13, 2009

They have a limit on the number of checks you can write in a certain time period. You are probably exceeding the limit. Try paying cash or not writing so many checks.
