Like many other's I've read here as well as other sites I too have been mislead by the questionable sales reps at Tepperman's. We too have been loyal customers to Tepperman's for a number of years and up until recent have never had any real concern. We have had two issues recently, first was with our washing machine that was tearing clothing. Thought at first we were doing something wrong maybe over loading the machine, after all this is our first front loading washer. So we tried reducing the amount of clothing we loaded the machine with...no change and still produced holes. We were first told by a telephone rep at the store this this would not be covered under their warranty. I proceeded to ignore their telephone rep and called their extended warranty company directly and sure enough it was covered, a simple adjustment to the machine so far seems to have corrected the issue. ..... Since then we have noticed an issue with our refrigerator while cleaning it one day recently. Our fridge, that is just over a year old as developed small cracks on one of the side walls inside the refrigerator. I could wrap my mind around cracks possibly appearing on the back where the shelves are supported but the sides that are supporting nothing? Obviously we called Tepperman's which proved to be a waste of time because of course this apparently is not covered and were told to call the manufacturer. I called the manufacturer, they say this might be covered and to call a local repair company at our out of pocket expense then forward their report to them to be reviewed. The manufacturer thinks they might be able to cover at least the cost of the material(s) but not likely the labour because it is over a year since we purchased the unit, however they said it should be covered under any extended warranty though if purchased. I proceeded to call Tepperman's warranty company, Cornerstone who like Tepperman's also told me that this is not covered. I am bewildered to say the least. Every product we've purchased from Tepperman's we also purchased their warranty plan's at a couple hundred bucks a pop. We were outright lied to by Tepperman's reps each time as it turns out! Their pushy sometimes described as poorly trained sales reps told us each time that their extended warranty plans cover everything top to bottom, to which we have learned otherwise much like many other's on sites like this one. I definitely do not recommend anyone to purchase the extended warranty from Tepperman's because their sales rep's will lie, or at the very least used to lie about what is actually covered. I do not see them selling the warranty too often if they actually told the truth about what is covered.

Well, we just had a technician come out to check the refrigerator (we had to initiate this repair call ourselves, Cornerstone, Electrolux/Frigidaire and Teppermans all would not). The crack(s) are not repairable and he thinks the fridge will have to be replaced because of this. The repair company will be forwarding their report to the manufacturer and the crappy warranty company that Teppermans chooses to employ. Rest assured that we will never purchase anything from Tepperman's again so long as they continue their relationship with a warranty company that clearly doesn't want to cover anything. In my opinion Cornerstone is the worst warranty company to deal with, period and should be avoided at all cost. Teppermans isn't much better simply because they pass the buck off to Cornerstone. Hopefully we can get this resolved soon before it gets worse...which we've been told it definitely will. We shouldn't have to fight for something that is clearly a manufacturing flaw, we've been told the cracks are likely a result of the plastic molding being too thin in the area(s) affected and the warm to cold and cold to warm nature of a fridge caused it to inevitably crack.
