I just want to advise everyone that i possibly can that that Teppermans will never receive any my families business EVER again. Just a brief, very brief, and this is brief, overview of what happened. In our situation we called Teppermans "Customer Service" due to our new table that we received was bubbling in three differing locations. One large bubble, a mid size bubble and then a small bubble all on the top of the table in seperate locations. We called "Customer Service" and they advised us that they will send their technical advisor for the funiture department for a onsite review and this individual did show up at the pre scheduled appointment as required. The technical advisor came in and looked at the table and advised us that he has seen this before and the glue is seperating/lifting from the malinite in the three locations. He indicated that its either a manufacture defect or the table was subjected to water spots or moisture from transportation based on he has seen this before. He checked for rings and other indicators that it may have happended on our premises and he indicated that he is satisfied that it is not the customers issue. Now here comes the ultimate turn..............The technician that was send for his "competent opinion" indicated that Teppermans would be calling in a coulple of days after they review his report and im sure that they will make arrangements with you as per our discussion. Well, we received the call from "Customer Service" and said they will not replace or fix the table due to it happened by placing a hot beverage on the table (even though no one is allowed to have drinks in this room) completely contradicting what the "competent" technician indicated at time of inspection. Once we pushed the matter the service representative said well then maybe you have to much moisture in your house????? Then once we discussed this even deeper this customer service representative said the technicians notes indicate possible flood in the room??? I have no clue were this came from and i was shocked!!!, i reminded this individual that if i had a flood in the room i would expecting that the table legs would be bubbled not three spots that are lifting/seperating the glue on the top of the table as previously discussed. At no time have we ever had a flood or even discussed wet conditions in my house. I requested that she arrange a time for herself and the the technician to be available and i would like to come down and discuss how this issue has taken a 360 degree turn from time of the competent individual who was sent out to eveluate our problem and who indicated that IT WAS NOT OUR PROBLEM WITH THE TABLE and i would like to do this in person and get to the bottom of this issue. I indicated that I would like to discuss this with all the people, including the tech, involved so we can eliminate peoples personal thoughts. I requested to speak to the manager of "Customer Service" and a day later i received a call from the manager that it is her position that we damaged the table and they are not doing anything for us. I again went through the process on how three seperate locations are seperating, and she said it was a hot drink that did this and it was our issue and then I requested to see the reports from the technician and she advised that the reports and not available to the customer. My position was that someone is is not telling the truth here because i know what was said in front of my wife and two neighbours that were over at the time and this is completely differint from what we was told. Also how did this flood issue get brought up, moisture in the air, etc????The manager was very condescinding and really never llistened to a word i was saying because she had her mind made up and nothing was changing or even willing to listen. She advised me that she sees this all the time and it will go down eventually and to date they have not gown dowm. Here is some good advise from customer service for anyone that this may happen to ....she advised me to buy some clamps and clamp these bubbles down??? Great advise to a customer at this point.
Heads up technical representative....Im sure the the poor guy that came to my house will be facing some type of disciplinary action (i sure hope note) because this "manager" said she needs to speak and deal with him about talking to customers and giving them information, real nice to tell a customer. In my opinion this competent technician is the only one that has acted proffesional throughout this situation. I am amazed and still cant believe the the customer service people have came up with their own thoughts that was completely 360 degree from what we were told by the person who came to my house and looked at the issue who was submitting his report to them.
Oh ya by the way, i used the Teppermans online comments section that they say they value our input and comments only to be called a day later and was ripped into and was told by the customer service manager she did not like my comments about someone being lied to and this is not the form for comments like that, etc, etc, etc. I requested to speak to someone above this manager and was advised she makes all the desicions and unfortunately that leaves me here in this form to advise anyone that may read this that i cant believe how this was handled.
If customer services is speaking on behalf of the company than as a consumer i (we) have options also. One, i am still amazed and shocked that this issue went south from what was discussed with the only person that seen the damage in person, two, if i had customer service people representing my businees like that, bringing issues into the mix that has no bearing or even relevant to the facts and use the non facts to get out of the situation then maybe as a owner, manager or representative of that company they really should look at the way they conduct their businees and who makes desicions on their behalf, i would also suggest that they really should think real hard about their legal and morale obligations to their customers also. I know im a very small part of their overall business but im sure that if they dont care about giving me the run around and turn the entire thing around for their advantage, they will have no problem doing it to everyone else. Well since the customer service manager speaks for the company and makes the desicions, Teppermans can count on my family, relatives and some of our neighbours from being in your store to purchase any products. If anyone ever brings up buying funiture, appliances or anything else that could be purchased through your stores i will be sure to tell them how i was treated.....
