The State of Texas, through its Department of Health and Human Services Department, is illegally denying thousands of eligible food stamp recipients benefits when they qualify under Federal Guidelines, for arbitrary, GOP created reasons and dumping these people, children and all, onto the local area food banks.

This action which began a few years ago prompted a distraught young mother to kill herself and her two children in the local food stamp office in Austin, TX. Although she qualified for food aid and met the Federal Government's critieria, the State of Texas has imposed onerous new restrictions and guidelines, often contrary with Government guidelines to disqualify those who otherwise would qualify.

Washington, DC and the Halls of Power are turning a blind eye to the abuse knowing this is outside of the intent of the program and not according to guidelines. [continued below]....

What??

AUTHOR: Stacey - ()

Food banks are there to help the needy period.  Is there some reason you posted this report?? Were you denied a Snap Card? I suggest you look at the real facts about the who receives SNAP benefits by going to the Texas Health and Human Services website.

I applied for SNAP and was given $16.00 a month -- A MONTH!! I have been unemployed for over a year and that is all I qualified for.  Therefore I have every right to visit a food bank when I need food after paying my bills.  And what do the Republicans have to do with it?? The President is a DEMOCRAT and controls the country in the one of the worse recessions in decades.
