I called the dish becasue they were promoting an awesome deal on cable service. $29.99 for 235 stations along with the hopper , free HBO, blockbuster,shotime, sports package etc. I got a rep on the phone and he was quite the sales amn. He talked so fast I had to ask him several times to repeat himself. He set me up with this pakage that never was 29.99 He said it was 40.99. After he went thru all the diclaimers and legal information, he asked me for social and a credit card. (At this point he said nothing would be charged to my account until the service was actually connected (This was the first lie! ) He said my credit came back that i had to pay an install fee. (Not quite sure still why that happend but when I figured out the cost for the year adding in what they called an installation fee, it was still less then my current provider so I went with it. And so it began: It took a week to get the rep out to install, when he finally did come he drilled holes in the brand new woodwork in the apartment instead of using the current holes that were already there from the pst tenants cable provider. So now I have these big black wires coming out the middle of the windows sills. This aparmtnet was completely gutted and redone prior to him coming, so the ceiling tiles were exposed to make it easier to run the wiring so it wasnt visible. He took the current cable outlet that was put in specifically for the tv and shuved it into the wall so we couldnt use it. I could go on and on withthis but this isnt even the worst of it. After an all day process the box is finally installed. That night I went to watch tv and the box said Hard drive failure. and I coulndt watch anything. The installation guy Brian gave me his cell number and said please dont call the dish if you have any problems becasue it will affect my bonus at the end of the month. Call my cell and I will come and fix it. Ok, so I called and left word that this was happening. He called me back the next day and said he would be here as soon as he could. 3 days later he comes and does whatever he does and says it was a wheather issue. He gets it working and no more then 10 inuites after hes gone the same error code came up. But this time we could watch tv just not use the dvr. No recording, No pause, no rewind etc. He came back and said he had to order a new box. When I asked why he wouldnt have one on the truck he said the ones on the truck get shuffled around and he wouldnt install one of them in his own home. He called and ordered it while he was at my home. They said a week to 10 days. Awesome. His response was" but you can still watch tv. you just cant use the dvr. A week and a Half goes by and I called the dish to find out what was going on and they said You got the box. I said no I never received it and they said yes you did you signed for it. After a half hour phone conversation trying to get them to understand I was not the one who signed for this box they told me to call UPS and figure it out with them. So I did. Ups said I signed but they couldnt tell me the name on the receipt. Then they called me back and said it was rerouted to another address. They said I had to call the Dish back and tell them. Again O called the Dish and got someone who could barely speak english/. After going round and round with them another 45 minutes later they said they would reissue me another box which would again be a week to 10 days for delivery. I finally get the new box and called the rep Brian and he said he would try to get there the next day. Nope didnt see him for another week. He comes and sets up the new box and all is good. For about a week. I go to turn to AMC to watch a premier show and I dont get AMC. and several other channels connected to it. I called the dish to find out why the channel was not working and they said I dont get it! I was never promised it. I told the man on the phone I was promised it along with the other 235 stations. I was very upset and he said understandabley. They had lost the contract to AMC. Millions of people were very disturbed by this and the majority of their calls were due to disgruntaled customers about the same thing. Let me connect you with the specialist dealing with this issue. They were compensating people for this. He transfers me to this how shall I say, Unprofessional person who clearly was not willing to do anything for me. I explained all my issues over the past few weeks with the initial process and now to have my favorit staion not even included int he package was the final straw. She says well what do you want me to do about it. I dont know what to tell you! I was in shock. Then when I told her the rep who transfered me said she was supposed to help me she said. He just wanted to get rid of me, that he just didnt want to talk to me thats why he transfered me to her! I am so angry I have no clue what to do. There is n one to talk to and nothing I can do. EXCEPT cancel my service . which is what I am going to do!.
