I was working for a company that was soon to close, the owner referred me to this company telling me they were in need of help. Upon being hired I was told that I would be able to set my own schedule once another employee was hired to help. I would Not have taken then job if I would have known otherwise.
About a week ago another person was hired to help out around the company. I then asked if I could change my schedule in about 10 weeks. This upset both owner and manager, they then told me I could set my schedule to anything I wanted except the days of thee week I proposed, which meant I could only work the hours and days I had been given upon hiring.
I would have been willing to try to think of another schedule or to see if there was any room to compromise but there was not. I told them if that were the case I would need to find another job for the winter time that the schedule would work for me and I reminded that I was told I would be allowed to set my own schedule. At this point both people backed me into a corner, literally and just asked me contradicting questions. For example they would ask things like, "so that is it, your just done, its your way or the high way" I would respond "I could possibly think about it but I did not know upon being hired these were the only days I could work for the next year" they would say "well you can set your own schedule you just can't work three of the four days of the week you wanted to and you already said you were done so why would we take you back." So they literally left me with no options, there was no compromising, just them acting like children as I tried to figure out what to do.
I told them I would finish out all of my scheduled apointments which was about a months worth of work. I came into work then next morning where I was being ignored and given the silent treatment. I would much prefer silence to arguiing so this was fine with me. I finished my first two appointments and called my second to find out why he was running behing, the costumer then told me the own had called that morning to cancel the appointment. I walked out to find out from them what was going on and the owner looked at me and stated "you have no more grooms today, you can go." I looked at both of them, bewildered and said "you two are children." I then walked back into my room and began to pack all of my equipment so I could get out of there as quickly as possible.
Ten minutes later two officers walked through the door stating that I had been asked to leave and was refusing. I told them I was not asked to leave by either person and that I was already trying to get out of there. My boyfriend arrived with our car and tried to begin helping me pack when the owners "threw a shoe" and would not allow my boyfriend inside the building. So I brought out all of my equipment (which was a lot) while my boyfriend packed the car.
I was completely emberassed and humilliated over a situation that never should have happened in the first place. I sincerely forwarn all persons reading to never trust this company for employment or to ensure proper care of the their dogs.
