The Hartford Insurance Company Disability office is pushing AIDS patients off a cliff, walking away dusting their hands. Hartford, Connecticut

Hartford Insurance is attempting to discontinue my long term disability policy by sending letters to one of my doctors treating me for AIDS. They have put me and one of my doctors under a great deal of pressure since they feel I should go back to work.

Both of my doctors have told them that a person living with full blown AIDS is not able to work and my labs results prove this. But using Hartfords criteria for being able to lift a certain amount of weigth, squat, bend or anything short of not laying in a hospital bed with an IV bag in my arm, I should be fine for work.

After sending a private investigator to follow my daily activities two times in 2010, they have gotten video of me going to my local gym to exercise. They are not taking into account the fact that during this disease process I was bedridden for 2 years and leaving the house except to see my doctors.

The investigation came after I made a comment to my case manager that "you act like you wish I were dead so you can get me off your payroll". She denies that the investigation was even triggered by them. The formal investigator that came to my house says just the opposite.

The Hartford sent an employee to conduct a formal investigation, a retired policeman of 25 years, and even he concluded at the end of the investigation/interview which lasted over three hours that "you seem to have your hands full with just trying to survive this, don't worry and keep up your exercise to stay alive".

I would warn anyone that is dealing with Hartford to pool your resources and FIGHT them. I have nothing to loose at this point. Except my life. Which my doctors and I both realize and accept will end soon anyway. Why does Hartford have to make this end process so hard? Could it be greed?

How will they feel when they get my death certificate? Will they stand back for a moment and say, wow..we should have left him well enough alone.
