I used the card with no problem. A few months later I called to get balance info and they told me the ssn number I was using to verify my identity was not the number they had on file and that they could not answer any questions for me. They told me to go to the Social security Dept and provide them with a letter that proves my what my ssn number is. They did nothing to assist me even though it was their error. Once I faxed them the letter they proceeded to tell me it could take up to 30 days to correct the error. On top of everything else every cusotmer representative I spoke to was very rude. I will never shop at home depot again. They may have jeoparized my credit. Buyer beware!

It's a simple problem and a simple solution. The social security number in the computer does not match that which you gave them. Therefore FOR YOUR SECURITY they will not release information about your account over the phone. Follow the instructions they gave you and this will be sorted out. You see, contrary to your accusations, they WILL help you, but it is up to you to do your part of the problem-solving as well.
