On reading an advertisement for assistance regarding application for Government Grants and Sources, I replied via telephone call. After being informed this service provided information on sources other than grants, as well, and relinquishing information as to my LOW INCOME(less than $25K), my aim was NOT Looking for a loan, and my being a homeowner, with NO MORTGAGE, and, and being business owner. My gender and marital status I reported as being a WHITE MALE, who was divorced, with two young boys, I did agree to pay through a credit card nearly $300.00 for this financial assistance service, being told I would be sent materials to fill out and return, the whole process taking 120 days or less! I began this venture in November, 2005. I recieved my packet of information,in January that I had read, filled out, and had in the mail, in January, 2006. I studied the material and got it to the Post Office for return, within a week. A month down the road, I began to make phone calls, making inquiries as to the progress of the report. This beginning in February, 2006. Four or five of these calls later, and it now being the beginning of April, on a call I was told I'd be recieving my search results via E-Mail. nearly two more weeks, no Results! On April 12th, 2006, I recieved a fourteen(14) page report, indicating Kensington had used mostly improper information, but offering me the opportunity for Loans, through HUD, and other agencies, that would consider me at a Poverty income level (that I wouldn't have qualified for before, considered me a Female and a Minority Business owner, one looking to build or purchase a 1st home (which I disclosed I already owned) and now, 6-Months later having attained New, slightly more lucrative, employment, was even farther from eligibility for, than before. (plus I had said I didn't want!) Now, after 6-months, instead of Four, and having sources that tell me I don't qualify for assistance. Kensington Consultants had told me If I got 3-turndowns for funding, they would refund my fee, but now says I gave them incorrect information, sources say this information does not let me qualify, Kensington Consultants saying, my having given them incorrect information, refuses to give me a refund; Help Me, PLEASE! Does the New York BBB have any pull with this situation? Please advise me, Folks! Thankyou very much, Joel
