Hi, A lot of moms are out there trying to make money on line... let me tell you that this is not the place to start.

When I started I had high hopes, they make it sound easy, they say they provide you with support, but in reallity, its not good.

I had to go to my site, if there was a contact, you had to call your enroller, if she didnt have time, you had to set an appointment with her, then you had to call her then and talk to her about your contact, then you had to make an appointment to call the contact with her if she couldnt do it then, then you called the contact to make an appointment to talk to her about the busines, but she does the call for you and you use your three way calling to do this...
it takes too long, when there is a contact like this, you need to enact.. it takes up to a week before you can speak to them, and then you usually loose it because she has lost interest!

I never made it past the training, and I didnt all the info to do it on my own.

And trying to quit this company is rediculous... I thought for sure that it was cancelled, and then the next thing i new, there was the package... and whats worse is that even though the payment didnt go through, they sent it anyways!!!

And if you speak to people, you are not allowed to mention Melaleuca, and you are not allowed to talk to people about the products. If you are caught doing this, they would have you thrown out of the mom team.

They claim that most of what we use has this Q15, a chemical used to preserve things, formeldahyde, and they do not have it... they list many products that does, and after I got looking, I only found a few things in my house that does, one is johnsons and johnsons baby wash, but i never found any in my soaps, shampoos or lotions, and i can buy baby wash and bubble bath elsewhere cheaper.

They are not all they seem. Some of the lines of the MOM team run a little differently. I feel that I was being dishonest. If I can not stand up and be proud of my business and of their products, I dont want to be a part of it!

I followed everything to the letter, and still i ended up not getting any of the bonuses i was supposed to get or anything else...

Now how do I get out of it!!

I feel your pain! I never got my bonus either. There was a promotion for the month that if you hit the 20/20 club, that is 20 personal enrollments you bonus $500! Great, that month I made it! They sent me the certificate congratulating me. I received my check and no $500 bonus?? I called the Regional Manager and was told that my 20th enrollment had been a customer 6 months ago so he does not count. I said what do you mean he does not count? This is a customer that dropped out 6 months ago and decided to re enroll, a customer is a customer. So the final answer was no, doesn't count so I was not entitled to the bonus...  But they congratulated me on making the 20/20 club. What a scam!!!!!! Run!!!!

Not a scam

AUTHOR: Denise - (U.S.A.)

I started with Melaleuca back in 2007 and was gung h*o on starting my business right away. I had a pretty good support team and learned the business quickly and enrolled 13 people within 2 months. Things were going great until some of the people I enrolled dis-enrolled as they just weren't as satisfied with the products as I was. I still have a few people enrolled and make about what I spend monthly in my own products. It is work - it's not a scam to make fast money doing nothing. I backed off the business as I felt I was neglecting my children and didn't feel the need to make $$ for that reason. I still am a loyal customer as well - I have tried other "green" products and was not satisfied in them at all - I am spoiled with Melaleuca. There are some items I don't like so I don't use them but for the most part - I love most of the products and will continue to use them. I know that if I wanted to get back into building my business, I have 100% support as that will not go away. I find that customer service is excellent on all levels. People that want to slander this company need to better educate themselves - I find that most people don't pay attention or read through the contracts/ materials provided and then when something happens that makes them angry - they lash out at the company when everything is there in black and white. There is a lot of info out there - it is easy to enroll and dis-enroll with full money back too! I think alot of people are hesitant about this type of company because of all the bad ripoffs that are out there. Melaleuca is not one of thembut if it's not your cup of tea - then just don't do it. Please don't slander it either until you know ALL the facts!

This person's complaint is not valid and cannot be proven. The above mentioned company has been on good standing with the BBB for 24 years in fact they just won an award from the BBB for what they are doing and for their ethics. The MOM Team has won numerous awards for what they have done. If someone signs up to be apart of The MOM Team they will be successful is they are completely coachable and motivated. All that is explained from the get go. If someone fails while on The MOM team it is because they refuse the step by step training. ALL motivated people on The MOM Team are successfull and proud to be a part of such a reputible company that has been built soley by word of mouth (that's why they don't advertise) for 24 years. Check them out for yourselves.

Melaleuca not a scam

AUTHOR: Nancy - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, June 25, 2008

I've been a marketing executive/customer of Melaleuca for a number of years. I has actually been a customer years ago, but lost track of the gal I was working with and my enrollment lapsed. I thought many times of trying to find Melaleuca again because I love their products. I found them, and got in touch with an Executive Director from the Stayin Home and Lovin It team, who was VERY helpful, very supportive, returned phone calls, provided training, and still to this date, even thought I'm not building my business but I'm just using the products in my home. I have never experienced anything unethical on this team, nor about this company. To the contrary, Melaleuca is a very strong, high values company that has received better business awards, hall of fame awards, and continues to grow successfully from year to year by expanding what they have to offer customers in terms of QUALITY products. yes, you can buy cheaper at Walmart by buying Walmart brand or whatever. But, are those products heavily researched before being released to the public? Do they use recycled materials in their containers? Does the stuff that is released into our ground water contain harmful chemicals? I could say many many good things about Melaleuca. I've explored home based businesses before, and every single one requires work and effort on YOUR part. NOTHING, and none of these "opportunities", will allow you to just sit in your house and make big bucks with minimal effort, don't kid yourself!

Melaleuca offers extremely high quality products, well researched and formulated, and I'd have to say I'm proud to be associated wtih the company that continues to grow offering more and more excellent services and values for customers. I'm proud to be associated with a company led by a very ethical CEO, Frank Vandersloot, who is respected and recognized and awarded for his work with the community and for the strength of this company.

I suspect that you may not have understood all the details of the business, because there were some errors in your comments. First of all, Melaleuca as a company name CAN be mentioned. You just can't associate it with marketing material that you create yourself because they have no control over what you put in your marketing materials along with their company name. Makes sense, right? They don't know what kind of website or brochure or whatever you're creating, and what else it may say along with your mention of Mela. So it is perfectly acceptable in my opinion and I understand why they do that. What if someone had a porn site, and included a link to their Melaleuca business??? Enuf said there.

Secondly, it sounds like your enroller was rather inattentive to your needs. You CAN, and should have, suggested moving to another team with a leader that was more effective. (If you are interested still in doing this, let me know and I can put you in touch with my leader who is excellent.) You don't even really NEED a website...you can do it all by word of mouth, or by phone, and still enroll people. They aren't just looking for warm bodies. IN fact, they want people just to try the products and use them as the "grocery store" for some items instead of where they are used to shopping, mainly because the products are better, healthier, more environmentally conscious, and there's an opportunity to make money on it if you like the products, refer your friends and family, and if they decide to "shop with Melaleuca" instead of their usual stores, you make a 7% commission on their purchases. someone mentioned in another posting that you make 7% on their base points. That is NOT correct. It's 7% of what the customer you enrolled purchases. I've been getting checks from this for a long time now, and know how it works. ONce you move up by referring more and more friends and family, you earn a greater percentage. Most people don't move up much, but it's NOT because this is a lousy company---it's NOT a lousy company! It's just a matter of people DOING THE WORK to refer people to shop with Mela, and then you'll see commission checks. There are so many opportunities there to profit with Melaleuca, it's not just commission checks. You get 10% of your order back for free products if you order prior to the 16th of the month. You get 1% back for free products of every purchase you make on a Melaleuca credit cards. You get $100 in free products when you sign up (spread out $20 per month for 5 months). You get basically the best home business, and most legitimate, I've ever seen. And believe me, I've tried several! I used to be with SMC, which I found to be a bit of a ripoff. Not so much that they lied about the opportunity, but they offered cheap made in China products that you can get at dollar stores. I felt embarrassed about the products I was offering to my potential customers. When they got the product, I sometimes heard "this is a little cheesey, isn't it? Not very well made." but with Melaleuca, the products are FANTASTIC. Over the years of trying more and more products, I'm now using almost all Melaleuca products that I can in place of store bought products. It keeps me out of the toxic cleaning aisle at the grocery store, too. (You can pick up toxins just by walking down the aisle! Tell me you don't believe this...you can smell it as you walk through. That stuff is going into your body!)

In summary, I think several of the upset reports I've seen here are faulty. It sounds as if almost every one didn't fully understand the opportunity, the company, the products, the business....and several people sound like they just happened to get with poor enrollers. THAT alone can make ALL the difference. Did they send you a DVD to watch? If not, did you get one for yourself to become more informed about the details of the company? How much effort did you REALLY put into getting referrals? And by the way, the "bonuses" you mentioned don't just happen. There are guidelines and things you must do before you get the bonuses. If you are a fast business builder, you become what they call a Pacesetter (enroll so many in a defined length of time), and your promotional bonuses double. If you didn't move up to Director or more, you weren't really due any bonuses. And when I've expected payment for this or that from Melaleuca, I have NEVER had a problem. Their customer service department is extremely well versed, well informed, and always very helpful.

I'd suggest you don't slam something when you don't know all the details about it, haven't tried very hard to make it work, haven't called when you have a problem, haven't pursued another leader that may be more effective. You can't find a home business that will just let you put in minimal effort, and get rich. Don't believe that. Melaleuca is legitimate, however. Look them up on the Better Business Bureau website, if you haven't done so already, and let me know how else you can slam them.

On a gentler note, if you really are interested and want more details info and corrected info about the company that you received in error, please email me at nant43@hotmail.com, and I'll talk with you. I won't try to enroll you under me unless you want to be, but would be more than happy to answer any questions you have. I promise. I love this company, and I'm not even working right now on building a business with it. I enrolled 3 people, and I still am getting small checks every month on their purchases. I found it easy to enroll them, and I enrolled 3 without much effort at all. I would be up the chain at a senior director level now if I had kept working at it. It won't come if you don't work at it!
