The Retail Equation..... is WATCHING you.

As a contractor I buy items from one of the Retail Equation's clients; The Home Depot (which I will be writing about them as well).  As any guy I know who does repair work or any work on their home or a clients, we always buy more than we need or misjudge a measurement and have to return our extra leftovers. Extra trips would kill my business in costs.

Normally I have receipts for my returns (but I'm reading online that even with receipts, this company will blacklist your drivers license) but I also go through my collection of leftover purchases to return back to Home Depot as time allows (no receipt). This is what I had done at my local Home Depot, but this time, their system decided I had reached an unknown, unseen by me limit and denied my returns. This wasted my time, the stores time and the receipt I was given could imply that I am less than an honorable person.

My receipts? I put them with my work orders for tax purposes. I had always shopped at Home Depot because they usually let me return my overages without a receipt. I always tell the clerks or manager that they can turn away anything they felt could not be easily resold. Since I never know when I made the purchase and the original receipts are put away... I always know I am getting back less than I paid for the items. Considering my time to track all of this, the lesser money is okay by me for the trade off. This company also does not allow for management to make an 'on the spot' decision on whether to okay a return or not (as per the hapless store clerk at Home Depot stated).

The Home Depot is a client of this 'company' and I will from this time forward avoid any company that decides to do business with The Retail Equation or any company that performs in this manner. This is an independent and privately held company making unseen decisions as to what I can do with the money I have spent at their clients place of business. I (and ANYBODY who makes ANY returns) am being tracked without the option to decline this 'service' nor am I being informed clearly and upfront that I am being tracked and for what purposes this information is being used, its scope, breadth and where it is going or if it is kept safe.
