I found The Shutter Factory online and gave the Plano, TX. company a $1000.00 deposit for six shutters to finish my remodel for my home. A few weeks later when I had heard nothing I started calling and heard nothing. I submitted a new customer bid online pretending to be a new customer and William Wallace replied because he was checking those new possible customers! He told me they had closed thru email and they would let me know when they re opened. In the meantime it has been months. I am out of money on my remodel. I don't have my window coverings and we are retiring on a fixed income. We are out of money and that $1000.00 was necessary for us to finish. Bill Wallace won't call or email me back. I have called and begged and told him just to let me know what is going on because if they were really going to re open I would wait. Because it's not like I had a lot of choices! I get nothing. If anyone can help me recover money or shutters I would be grateful. He is apparently the owner of the Shutter Factories in San Antonio and Austin because I tried them and they are the same no. with the same recording that they are relocating ad they never call you back. OH! And, they took part of my existing shutter to match so, now I have a shutter with a missing slat!!! Seriously, these people are not acting right! I would like that back too.

I knew Bill and this is a bad thing all around!

I knew Bill for years and am shocked at what I am hearing. Even though he was a good guy, he shouldnt of taken money for work he had no intention of completing. I happen to know he was fairly wealthy and could have paid back the thousands he took from people. During my research into this situation I also found that he was also involved in a lawsuit from the lumber company he used and lost the judgement and has to pay over $100,000 to the company that he obviously was in debt to. This whole situation is very upsetting to me and I feel sorry for all parties involved. even Bill, as I personally know he wasnt the type of guy that would do such things to people. I hope in the end things work out for all parties involved. Our economy is no excuse for taking money from people that are retired or not. This is a sickning situation and since finding out about all this I am deeply disturbed by the whole mess. God bless those who are out money!

Fake good customer "responses" on The Shutter Factory

I was online reading the "reports" that there "customers" wrote about this company. Please go to www.Dallascad.org. It is th appraisal district for the city of Dallas. I looked up all the names and addresses for the "customers" who put great compliments recently. NOT ONE of the names match up to the legal tax roll for the City of Dallas. I could see if one or two didn't match but NONE of them did.

There even claims to be a "100 year old house" that the did shutters on, that website allows you to look at when the house was built, it was built 15 years ago. I went to the Better Business Bureau website also and read the reports, and just as I expected, ripoff. Please go and look at this information and delete all the people off. These are not real people that live on Ash Bluff or Spring Valley. It is obviously some with ties to the company posting all these great reports. Thank you and please do the right thing to the "customers" whose addresses don't match up with there names and delete their comments, just strange that all these people don't match city records and are obviously lies. Maybe good for years but dishonest now!

Shutter Company may have been honest for years and made thousands of shutters, but it only takes one act of dishonesty to ruin a name. The bad economy may have ruined Wallace. That was no reason to take my money.

To this day my money has not been returned and after he had shut down his business he was still taking calls to measure windows. I want you to understand the level of dishonesty that takes. So when my $1,000.00 is refunded I will write that on here about said good man. I an still retired.

Bill and The Shutter Factory team did a great job on our first set of windows last year, so we had them come in to finish the rest of the house. They fitted and installed shutters throughout the rest of the house and the result is, again, fantastic. Very helpful and efficient sales, not pushy at all, and another great installation team got the job done quickly. Work was very clean, the guys were super friendly and they did a good job installing despite some crooked window frames (our house is 100+ years). The Shutter Factory has installed custom shutters and blinds on all of our windows now, so we are very pleased to recommend them to others.

Bill and Nancy, the husband and wife team at A Divine Design were terrific. From the moment we first contacted them, we knew we were in good hands. Marco was incredibly responsive - he was at our home to show us his product, measure the windows (11), and provide us with a quote the very same day we had made initial contact with A Divine Design. Needless to say, we were very impressed and contracted them to custom build and install shutters for all of the windows in the house. The shutters were built and installed by Marco himself in 4-5 weeks. They look great! We would highly recommend their product and service to anyone currently in the market for custom built shutters.

Based on discussions with friends, I thought having new shutters installed in our house was going to be silly expensive, take forever and a day and be error-filled. Well with Amazing Window Fashions they took the measurements and had the beautiful shutters installed in three weeks at a very competitive cost. My wife and I are thrilled with the result. They were professional and courteous at all times. I would recommend them to anybody without hesitation.

At first I was skeptical of all of these good reviews. It seemed too good to be true, but now I understand why. Bill is an honest business man. The price he quoted me was the price that he honoured. There were no hidden costs. It was also by far the best price compared to other companies that quoted me. Bill provided top quality service from his quick and prompt e-mail replies to Bill's great work with the installation. They were both punctual, polite, and professional. My wife and I are very happy with their work! The shutters look awesome. Go with Bill and you can't go wrong. We would recommend him to anyone.

After checking with several distributors of shutters and blinds, Bill was fabulous. He explained in detail how they work, what would work the best for the space, etc. He was very professional. Also, the installers had a high work ethic and were respectful of the house, cleaned up and were pleasant to deal with. I highly recommend The Shutter Factory. Their professionalism and efficiency is a rarity these days.

People do not go to a website like "Ripoff Report" to post a positive experience. These folks posting what a wonderful experience they had with this crook are obviously employees or are related to the jerk. I still have not received a penny of the $3,800.00 he stole from me.
It seems whenever Mr. Wallace needs additional funds he closes one business and starts a new one. The ripoffs continue.

Shutter Factory did a great job putting up our shutters at my home. They helped with educating my wife and I about different products and what to look out for in the market. During the installation, I made a request for a few changes on the shutters and without hesitation I got what I wanted. Along came and gave me a very competitive quote. He displayed confidence in his product. I requested that they do the job. Alex came to install 3 weeks later. The shutters look beautiful. They really compliment my Victorian home. They look like they have been there forever. One small issue in main bath, but they have advised it will get rectified.

Alex was referred to me through a work colleague after I had seen the shutters in his home and commented how good they looked. Alex came over for our estimate at the time he said would (puntual) was courteous and in a matter of 30-minutes we were doing business. The shutters arrived in the time frame he said they would and he and his colleague installed them when he said he would and with minimal intrusion into our home. So it was a pleasant experience and great service - I am happy to recommend Alex and Amazing Shutters.

Good choice of company

After deciding that shutters were the way to go with our large front bay window, we researched shutters on the internet and on Homestars.ca and Amazing Shutters kept appearing at the top of our list for supreme product and supreme ratings. Alex came to the house a few weeks ago, explained the benefits and quality of the custom made polywood shutters and provided samples. We were sold. After a few weeks, Alex and his father installed the shutters today and the installation was first class, as they even caulked around the framework. The results are truly breathtaking! If you want quality, class, richness and peace of mind, we highly recommend Amazing Shutters. Alex and his dad are extremely proud of their work and we were rewarded by choosing their company.

A friend of mine referred me to Amazing Window Fashions. She had shutters installed in her home 4 years ago and they still look brand new. These guys took $3800.00 and closed their doors

We had used this company a couple of times before and had good luck. However the last move cost us $3,800.00. They came out and gave my wife the estimate. They told her they would give a discount for cash. She gave them a check for $3,800.00 it was cashed two days later.

After a few weeks and several calls and emails ignored, I drove to their factory only to see that the doors were Chained shut. Called the cops and the district attorney, they said it was a civil matter and should sue. Lawyers would eat up $3,800.00 in a hurry.

We got hosed.

The Shutter Factory earned its A+ service rating by providing quality custom shutters for over 25,000 customers in the DFW Metroplex for more than 20 years. The Shutter Factory should not be considered a "fly by night" operation. The housing industry was one of the hardest hit by the current recession. Recovering from such a devistaing ecomomic downturn is not an easy task. There are only a handfull of customers which unfortuneatly shared the effects of one of the worst ecomomic downturns since the Great Depression. This small group of customers effected by the result of the current recession have not and will not been forgotten. Any form of  restitution or compensation for this small yet important group of customers can only be achicived by the continued support of the 25,000 customer base built over a 20 year tenure. Dosen't everyone or any business deseves a second chance and the opportunity to make things right ?
