I was also a victum of the Spiderman rip off, having signed a one year contract for their services. I had 2 treatments performed by their service man, one was free and the other I paid 85.00 dollars. Several weeks after the second service my home became infested with box elder bugs, I called Spidermans office and they assured me they would make a return treatment for free on the next day. However no service man ever showed up to complete the service so I made another call to the office and left a phone number for someone to call me back. No one ever called and the treatment was not performed as promised. My house was taken over by the box elder bugs, they were inside, crawling in my bed, in all the sinks, bathtubs and everywhere else. I made one other attempt to reach them with no success. This morning I recieved an email from Spiderman saying they would be coming to perform a treatment per the contract agreement on 10/29/09. I notified Matt Flanders the owner by email this morning, warning them not to return after having fought with box elder bugs for the last month on my own. This company can not be trusted to fulfill the contract they have customers sign, and yet they continue to try and collect for any unpaid services remaining on the contract even when multiple complaints have been filed.

Don't be fooled

by these guys and their sales pitch ESPECIALLY if they are going door to door to do it. Thats the first red flag. If this company was all that great they wouldn't need to go door to door because they'd have a reputation. These guys have in been in business for less than 5 years and already have about the same number of complaints filed against them at the bbb and thats only those that actually bothered to take the time to open a case.
Save your money and do it yourself, or if you have to hire someone, get 3 estimates and do your research first. You shouldn't need to be pressured into signing a contract or if you do, you should have a clear out clause and have the right to cancel if not happy at any time. And you shouldn't have to call whoever you hire to confirm a cancellation (another gimmick these guys use), and you SHOULD be able to easily get through - ask bbb. they had issues before even contacting them. If the BBB can't easily contact them, how can anyone else?
Anyone signing with these guys should do their research first. If you still want to sign a contract and do it through one of their door to door sales persons, voice record the entire conversation first. Then make it clear on the contract where you can opt out if not happy (including being able to contact them).
