Everything that follows is 100% factual and indisputable: I've decided to Avoid using THE SAN MARCOS, CALIFORNIA UPS STORE (#4095) AT 310 S. Twin Oaks Valley Road, as THEY LOST MY $250.00 PACKAGE CONTAINING A Scotty Cameron wooden putter rack in new condition and refuse to reimburse me for it. I have legal proof of delivery of my package to them by USPS, with their agent's signature, but after many amicable attempts initiated by me over six months to resolve this matter (even using the HQ UPS Store Customer Satisfaction Department), no progress has been achieved, no reimbursement has been offered or made. They are in a totally indefensible position, but because a fairly small amount of money is involved, it's evident they expect me to quietly absorb the $250.00 loss.

Recently, they've just stonewalled, even though there is no question that the package was lost while it was in their custody and control. They won't respond to my reasonable requests to settle the claim, even for a reduced amount. After experiencing UPS Store #4095's customer satisfaction policies and problem resolution practices, IF I needed business support services in San Marcos, I would switch to (((competitor's name redacted))). The UPS Store owner is fully aware of the situation and knows how to contact me if they choose to make a fair settlement.

sorry, allowing you to give a competitors name would instigate others to just file against their competition, to only come back later to suggest their company, ..plus, if you post a competitors name more than likely they will show up on search engines as a Rip-off! - - your comments on this policy are welcome. #1 Consumer Suggestion

If a UPS store agent signed for it

AUTHOR: Josephal - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, December 05, 2008

Am I to assume you have a box at the UPS Store? (don't ship to there if you don't)

If you have a UPS Store box:
If the UPS store accepted a USPS Signature Confirmation package, they did have the package.

1. Tell the UPS Store to check everywhere, not just on the shelf. Check all packages, look under all boxes. Tell them to check every box in the store. Go into the store and insist. Ask to speak to the owner in person during open hours. If they cannot find it, try my next suggestion.

2. Contact the USPS and ask for a Postal Inspector. Explain what happened. See if USPS will file a report (and possibly investigate). At least make USPS aware of this, even if they say it has been too long. The UPS Store must provide the package or reimburse you. If they still refuse, go to step 3.

3. File a report with the BBB. Follow up on it. if this gets nowhere, try no. 4.

4. Try to file a police report stating (correctly) that person X (whomever signed for it) accepted an item that I paid for with a value of X and then refuses to give it to me. I did not give the item to them.

5. If none of these work, check for local news stations that have an investigative team and contact them. Tell them your story.
