My experience with this store has been one of renting a mailbox for the past three (3) months.  When I first signed up, the cost was something like $35 per every three (3) months, about two weeks later I was locked out of my box.  Come to find out a letter had come to me with a slight name variation, so they would have to charge me another $35, which I paid begrudgingly.  They know how difficult it is change your address, they think they have you over a barrel so they can charge whatever they want.  The real icing on the cake... I went to renew today for another three (3) months and now it's $99, when I asked why so much what was I paying for, he responded very shortly "your box rent". I wrote a check to pay the outrageous fee, and he said "is this thing any good", referring to my check.  I ABSOLUTELY POSITIVELY HATE AND DESPISE UPS AND THE UPS STORE.  Unprofessional, Unethical, and a bunch of thieves.

"Seeworthy" the troll, can't keep a straight story..

AUTHOR: SoChemAndEquipLLC - ()

POSTED: Wednesday, August 28, 2013

Very confusing is the fact that this "Seeworthy" character trolls this site and responds to almost every post that has anything to do with mailing or shipping. In one post he/she claims to "operate a store, similar to the UPS store, but better"...yada yada yada.. But then, in another post he/she talks about paying box rent at one location at the rate of $35/month for the past 8 years. So, if you operate one of these businesses, WHY would you pay box rent at another one??? Simply doesn't make sense.

Yes, please clarify.

Your original post is severly lacking of any type of details. I believe you are trying to say $35 for 3 months at a time, not $35/month. Why would they ask you to pay another $30 after you already paid for 3 months? Ask them before you pay! And then $99 for 3 months is too much, yet again, ask before you pay.

What was bad about their attitude, you didn't say anything about that.

You were unclear with the monthly rental fee. I have a business box rental at one of those locations for which I pay $35/month. Is it safe to assume you have the same? If that's the case, though, why is is a problem that it was $99 to renew it, as that's only $33 month? Why would you ask, "Why so much?". And why were you surprised at the basic answer of "box rent"? Mine has been $35 for over eight years. The location I use still gives me the new customer discount of the free added months if I pay for a year at a time, which drops the average month price down. Why did you have a "begrudgingly" attitude to pay the mailbox fee when you knew what it cost when you opened it?

If your rental was a total of $35 for three months, then you must have one of those newer basic boxes. If you get packages, request emails or phone calls, do a call in check, storage, or whatever, there's fees for those services like a post office would tack on for their box rentals, if they even offer them at all. If it's not in your contract, then you should not have had to pay for anything but the base rent. If it is, then why would you complain? And why $35 for a wrong name? That makes no sense without an explanation.

If any person for any reason asked with any tone about a paper check, "Is this thing any good?", there's a motivation to do so, tactful or otherwise. This indicates that some elaboration was omitted, i believe, intentionally. The omission of details and poor logic also suggest that you may be 'just one side of the story'...as why would one person at one privately owned UPS business force you to say that you "ABSOLUTELY POSITIVELY HATE AND DESPISE UPS..." all over the world. What does a global shipping corporation have to do with your box rental problems?

My rental has gone fine. Someday, no doubt, I will need to change my address. Providing my new address will be a very small chore that won't leave me feeling like I'm "over a barrel". I'm sorry that it would be too hard for you to do, but perhaps you should just do it now and get it over with. It's not that difficult.
