Used Self clean control feature for first time. Super heated-cleaned oven but destroyed range control module-electromics and self cleaning latch mechanism controls.
$598.00 control part, $194.00 Latch control part. Labor $220.00.
Best Part: Service tech said "Dont ever use Self Clean feature on Thermador or most range oven combinations as heat from self clean feature affects controls and latch mechanic-electronics.
Unbelievable. This is a $10,000 appliance costing almost $1,000 to repair becaise a "feature" was used.
Anyone else having problems with Thermador self clean mechanicals-electronics or range oven controls after use of self clean feature.
Severe design flaw- either over-insulate electronics and controls or turn down self clean temp. I would have rather scraped some remnants from self clean than have controls destroyed.
Never purchase a high end range with a self clean "feature". More like self destruct.
