Second, ThrillZown's biggest downfall is the fact they have no live person taking calls for any of the numbers listed on their site. In fact, if you call their reservation line you go straight to voice mail after a male voice states they are "experiencing an unusually high call volume". A blatant lie, in my opinion. I've tried calling at all hours of the day, there's absolutely no way that line is busy 24/7. In all likelihood there is nobody on the other end, it simply dumps into a voice mail.
If you call back on the main 800 line you can choose one of two options; stay on the line to make a reservation or press the #2 to speak with someone about a current reservation. Well, I tried both and was dumped into different voice mails. Option #2 gave me some invalid error and immediately stuck me into some unknown mail box. Seriously? Are there no grunts keeping this company running? I've experienced better customer service with my cable provider, and that's saying something because they're horrible. I would rather wait on hold with dorky music playing in the background for a live person than leave a message with the empty promise of a call back.
Which leads me to issue three; no call backs. I've left four messages now with this company over the course of two weeks and have yet to receive a call back. To me, that means you have no intention of calling me and every intention of stealing my money. I'll be calling my bank today to block any further transactions ThrillZown might attempt and notify them of fraudulent activity. I've already reached out to Groupon about this, and according to them they too have attempted contact with ThrillZown. They didn't say whether or not they got a hold of a live person, but assured me I'd get a call back from ThrillZown within 3 business days (it's been 4 - still nothing).
Buyer beware. Groupon deals are great but if you see ThrillZown - Buy at your own risk. These folks have my "Scam-alert" at full blast: No customer service, no call backs, a laughable website layout (seriously, it's horrible), and most importantly: They take your money and disappear. Groupon has offered me a refund should ThrillZown fail to contact me, which they have. I'll be collecting on the Groupon promise. Hopefully other people have the opportunity to get their money back from this failure of a business, too.
