I put my computer into the tiberian shop in Paisley to get repaired, they gave it back to me completely un-useable.
I asked that they firstly find out and tell me what was wrong with it,then I asked them to put a 500 gb hard drive in and upgrade the ram memory from one gig to two gig and to put in another burner.when I got it home it was a complete mess absolutely unusable, they charged me 220.00 I intend to take them to court but please let me warn everyone who reads this not to go near them for any reason at all they are a bunch of cowboys and whats more they
gave me a false report and expected me to hand it to a court of law,as my coputer is the subject of a cival lawsuit that I have brought against the company I bought it from.
I do hope you can publish this!
Thank you!

RE. "I put my computer into the tiberian shop in Paisley to get repaired"

AUTHOR: splitpbt - (United Kingdom)

POSTED: Sunday, February 14, 2010

Hmmm...

Speaking from a personal point of view, ive built a few PCs over the last couple of years. The latest one of which id class as being, pretty much a high end machine. High end meaning: Asus P6T Deluxe v2 mobo, Intel i7 cpu, CoolerMaster HAF932 chassis, CoolerMaster Real Power M1000 1kw psu and Creative X-Fi Titanium Fatality sound card. Approx.1000()

All of these components were purchased from the tiberian shop in Paisleys High St. I still need 6-12gb DDR3 ram, Water cooling system, GTX295 Graphics card, 2 x 1TB HDDs and Windows7 64bit Ultimate OS. I expect that ill possibly be paying in the region of another 1000+ all of Which, ill have absolutely no hesitation in obtaining from the tiberian shop in Paisley.

So you may ask yourself, why is this guy going into so much detail.? More importantly, do i really want to read/hear this. Well let me take just a few more minutes of your time to explain. Firstly, ive NOT got loads of money to splash out on these high end components... Every one of them comes at a cost. ie. Sacrfices, a lot of Willpower and saving up. Secondly, im what some people would class as an Extreme Gamer where the only way to go is to have the very best of components that you can possibly have. But like i said, sacrifices have to be made in order to obtain them...

I do feel sympathy for Mr Fadian, but that does NOT necessarily mean that he was right to make the complaint. Youll find all over the web, stories about how people (noobs, newbies) have tried to: modify OSs, Overclock, tried to format and install/Reinstall OSs without having even a small modicum of knowledge and are totally ignorant to the brutal consequences that can occur from their actions. Pirated or Cracked for want of a better word, software is another story. But all of the above usually has the same end results my putas sick or in Mr Fadians case, a totally unusable state but very easy to fix.

Maybe someone just needs to sit down and explain the 3rd rule in Newton's laws of motion: "For every action theres an equal and opposite force"...

Conclusion:   It seems to me Mr Fadian has had an issue with Comet and having had no joy there probably decided it was going to be much easier to try and claim some sort of monies from a smaller business like tiberian. Also Mr Fadian had asked if tiberian staff could call out to his home to help him which they did at a loss, because its alledged Mr Fadian could only pay them one third of the callout/work fee bad news...

tiberian shop staff, each and all of them have never been anything but nice, courteous, patient and most of all, only too glad to help and offer advice should you find yourself needing it. I can only say that ive been and still am a very happy customer and will continue to do business with them in the future. Small companies in this and even the software industry need the support. So support you local retailer, dont be flaming them for YOUR MISTAKES and lack of KNOWLEDGE.

The only person thats been ripped off here is: tiberian shop owner...

Regards, splitpbt...

Response to Ripoff Report and Elmer from Tiberian

AUTHOR: Tiberianshop - (United Kingdom)

Mr Fadian asked for his system to be upgraded during a dispute with Comet (where he bought the system). He was charged 220 for a hard drive (500GB SATA II), ram (additional 1GB), DVD burner and Windows XP Home re-installation. After which the system left our store in perfect working order. He also requested a report from us which he could submit to Comet, which we provided free of charge.

He then contacted us weeks later to inform us that he had removed the 500GB SATA II hard drive, because he had wrongly been advised that it was not compatible with his system. He requested an on site call to his home to resolve the problem, which we were happy to provide. We re-fitted the 500GB hard drive and did a demonstration to show that the drive was working perfectly. The customer was very happy with the work done however he claimed to have no money and only paid a third of the call out fee and promised to pay the rest the next day. We have to this date not received the money owed to us from Mr Fadian.

Mr Fadian then phoned us weeks later to request information on how to install an additional operating system (which he claimed to have bought elsewhere). We refused to give him the advice he requested until he paid the outstanding money he still owed us.

We now believe that the source of Mr Fadian's complaint is him installing an illegal copy of Windows XP Professional obtained from a friend a whole 2 months after his PC left our shop, leaving his PC in an unusable state. This can be verified by Trading Standards.

Our policy is to help our customers in anyway that we can to resolve any issues that they may have. However as Mr Fadian has levied a completely false accusation and set of circumstances (due to a problem of his own making) we feel we have no option but to report the matter to Trading Standards and will be taking this further to resolve the issue.
