The week starting 5/24/2010, tiger direct sent out an email with their "40 Killer Coupons" advertising for $39.99(Normally $59.99 with rebate) a Flip Ultra Camcorder that claimed it was "HD" despite the fact that the product description said it had a maximum resolution of 640x480! HD is defined as being 1280x720 or higher. The camera that actually produced HD video was advertised for $99....that's all well and good but when I emailed them about it they said it did produce HD....blah blah blah. I emailed them back saying "No, look at the item numbers for the price of each.....the one advertised for $39.99 does not produce HD". So they emailed back saying thanks and they would fix it. Now I find a new promotion..."Black Friday in May" now they're selling the same camera for $79.99, no rebates, no nothing! How is that even on sale?! It's not, they're using the same "Sales" tactics that best buy and many other companies use, targeting the people who don't know any better and will say "hey it says it's on sale....it must be a good deal" when in fact it costs more now that it did normally according to the previous promotion! Boycott companies that outright lie in their ads to just to draw in customers!

We have researched into this matter and it appears that the product in question was incorrectly advertised as being "HD Capable" and we apologize for this. This was sent to our marketing executives and has since been corrected.
Our records also indicate the product had a mail in rebate when it was first advertised however that has since expired and the price is now $79.99.
We would still like to make this situation right for you and perhaps work on finding you a camera at a discounted rate..
You may contact me directly at ernie@help.tigerdirect.com so I can better assist you with this matter.
