I had ordered an air conditioner from them on 09/09/2013 and requested it be delivered to the nearest UPS Sorting Center instead of house because I didn't want that large of a package left on the front door step.

The Sales Rep stated I needed to book the order to my physical address for delivery and that once it was in the system, I could request UPS to keep it at their facility for willcall....

That was LIE #1...calling UPS and even trying to redirect to their facility via the UPS website was a waste of time because TigerDirect had the delivery locked so only they could have delivery location changed

LIE #2 I called the next day to ask about have the delivery redirected to the UPS office, and the Customer Service rep went through all of the gyrations of acting like he was checking into it and then came back on the phone and said "it was done" and the delivery will be available at UPS Will Call in Gardena and that I could track the package for delivery online. HE NEVER CONTACTED UPS.

LIE #3 I went online to track UPS delivery and it stated 'out for delivery' TO MY HOME ADDRESS...the place nobody will be at and the package would be left outside. I then went online and used the Customer Service CHAT option at TigerDirect.com

The person going by Mikelson C. went back and forth for about a half hour saying he was 'checking'...even though...I was 'checking' to and it only took me seconds to do so.

He tried to redirect me to UPS...again...I advised him of my findings and past conversations with UPS and TigerDirect. Of course he put me on CHAT hold again... he stated that he entered my request and it would take some time, since they were backlogged.

I asked why the other rep didn't say anything about being backlogged and Mikelson C. stated that the other 'TigerDirect' rep had no way of knowing they were backlogged... I asked him how he knew they were backlogged, and he said he checked online in their system, then asking him, wouldn't the other rep also be using the same system as him? Backpedal and $20.00 gift certificate was offered, which I told him that unless it was a $20.00 Starbucks gift certificate he can keep it because I will never buy another product from TigerDirect, even with their own money.

I then asked if he was going to resolve the problem and have the package recalled and held at UPS WillCall?

He stated he had already put the request in the system.

Guess where the delivery went?
GUESS WHERE I WILL NEVER SHOP AGAIN?

After jumping through hoops and making clear my frustration TigerDirect.com did an ad hoc, 11th hour save to finally recall the package back to the UPS Depot for will call...literally minutes before UPS driver was on route to delivery.

While this may sound like TigerDirect.com finally manned up, it should be noted that the amount of hassle, the misrepresentation, inefficiency of their system and rules of doing business, and the outright lies to cover them up far outweigh the few dollars that might have been saved in buying through them.

They need to take some notes from EBay and Amazon on customer service and response time (which neither of them are perfect either, but compared to TigerDirect are shining stars).

I am to understand that TigerDirect was somehow associated with the now dyfunct Circuit City Stores whom when in business had some of the worst customer service, hard sell tactics and most demaning "security' systems that would make the buyer feel like they were going through an IRS audit.

This is not how to inspire customers to come in flocks to buy your goods.

My overall impression would have to be...TOO LITTLE, TOO LATE

Remember, it is our money, our choice and our time.

Respect it, or lose us that are the reason you are in business in the first place.

TigerDirect isn't the only company with poor customer service, but why should we sit back and accept the abuse, frustration and deception from any company's innefficiency?

The answer is, we shouldn't...and personally, I won't anymore.
