I bought 7 new tires for $1000.00 for my motorhome, asked service writer if they understood how to properly install dually rims back on to motorhome and he said yes they are experts and understood everything and did not want my advice. [Tire Works on West Craig Road, Las Vegas, NV]
After job was finished and paid in full I took motorhome on highway and it shook from front to back like crazy, so I took it back for checking to see if they did the install correct, they would only take off the 2 front tires and recheck and refused to remove back 4 dually tires and check, he insisted it was all OK now, took motorhome back on highway and it still shook from one end to another over 40 mph, called the store back and service writer said I now had bad rims and refused to remove back tires and recheck, how ever I had no shaking problem with other tires before install.
Took my motorhome home to a local truck stop by advise from my neighbor and the truck stop tire man removed all tires and his inspection was the back rims where installed back on hubs wrong and would have cause a serious accident if left unchecked and he also noted that they where all balanced wrong, 2-3 times more wights than needed, he also pointed out that rims were in OK shape some minor out of round by not a problem and they balanced out pretty good, this cost me an extra $80 to have them installed correct and balanced, great man at this truck stop and he got a good cash tip as well, motorhome was now back to smooth again.
Way does a company [Tire Works] take your money and does not follow thru on proper work and refuses to recheck work, what if I had a accident from tires coming off, this would have caused Tire Works maybe thousands in law suits and maybe death, is it not cheaper to make things right, I will never go back there and have told many about there lousy work.
Now they are in the local news about riping people off with crappy work and over charging, do they want return customers or are they just crooks that take your $$ and toss you out the door.
