We took our daughters first car to a great mechanic and found out the front axel boots were bad and the car needed breaks. Since that shop suggested we get other estimates and gave us a written estimate, we took it to Tire Works #09 on Silverado Ranch Blvd. in Las Vegas for the breaks and an estimate on the front axel boots. They said they could match the price and give us a break since we were having the breaks done too. We gave them the go ahead and had an estimate from them.
Once they started to do the work they couldnt find parts (they didnt verify the parts first before the old ones were out) and said they needed to leave old ones on and only fix half, for the same amount. They said it would fix the issue however and after a lot of negotiating with the manager, they decided to stick to their original estimate.
The car had issues with the breaks two weeks later and in the last 9 months has been back 4 times for the same issues with the breaks not being right. This week we took the car to the original mechanic and learned they fixed the WRONG boots, and adjusted the rear breaks so tight that they couldnt get the rear tire off easily. The back plate was also bent to hell because they pried it back, instead of using the lug screws to pull the breaks off. The rear axel is now grinding because they messed with them, when it was the FRONT boots that I had the estimate for. And they are still bad.
We will have to have the break job redone and the original boots in the FRONT fixed. This will be over $1,000 fix for their mistake. And that estimate doesnt include the axel issue in the back now. I have the estimates they wrote to fix the front boots and not the rear. The managers are rude, and didnt even want to honor the brake warranty until I provided their paperwork (which they had on the computer) to prove they repaired them. Then they adjusted them again. Two weeks later, in the shop with smoke coming from the rear tires. Do you really think I am going back so they can ruin something else? Nope, paying to get it done
I have emailed them and asked for the owner to call and get a refund before talking this to an attorney and it doesnt seem like they care. Glad they have to deal with this upset Dad and not my daughter, or who knows how much they would have ripped a young woman off. They dont care about their brand or integrity. With this economy, good mechanics are needed to keep older cars on the road. This company is not that group. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!
The sad part is how many BAD reviews the entire chain has online, and I didnt see them or research before. I am making it my mission to notify everyone, Better Business Bureau, Chamber of Commerce, online reviews, friends, family, coworkers, EVERYONE! Might even go get a permit and picket in front of the location..
