Also we discovered on our other vehicle that while we were told that after the oil changes we had on two separate occasions that our tires were rotated. We recently went to another company for this service and were told there was no way the tires had been rotated. My husband works in Buckhead and this Tires Plus was convenient for him but we will never visit another Tires Plus anywhere!

Bad Heater Hose=Loss of Engine Coolant

The check engine light was probably illuminated due to a high engine temp code stored in the PCM. The tech read the code and found the problem to be in the heater hose. The tech replaced the faulty hose. The tech addressed the primary/obvious issue causing the engine to overheat. However, who knows how long the customer drove the vehicle with it overheating prior to taking it in to the shop to be looked at.
The head gasket probably started failing long before taking it to Tire's Plus that day. When the head gaskets start to go, coolant can leak into the cylinders, mixing with the oil, effecting engine combustion, and possibly cracking the cylinder head. The tech may have forgotten to clear the engine code. The check engine light doesnt just go away. It has to be cleared. It could be that the tech forgot to clear the code. Or, even more plausible, the tech did clear the code, but with a defective head gasket, the vehicle immedietly began to overheat again, bringing the same code back on.
There is a good bit of missing information which the person making this complaint failed to supply, whether knowingly or unknowingly. If a check engine light illuminates, I would never recommend blowing it off.
Raven, you have made yourself look like nothing more than an idiot. Your supposed ASE certification in Automatic Transmissions/Transaxles obviously doesn't qualify you in Engine Performance. I really question the validity of your supposed A2 ASE certification.

stating other wise as for tires plus they are none for there bad faith business practices what you may or may not know is tires plus was under other business names such as Olson tire/Morgan tire/wheel works/discount tire and since they have been sued in class action suits stemming from labor laws over charging customers or not performing work describe on a work order or not using the correct fluids recommended by the manufacturer or the proper procedures of replacing vital fluids after said work has been perform.
and most automotive repair shop that have knowledgeable A S E certified Techs and service manger will tell you if a job is not done the correct way the out come is going to cost the customer or customers more money even a complete Los of said vehicle to them cause now the cost is more than said vehicle is worth
yes everyone should take there vehicles in for service but at the same time some can not afford it or they go some where thinking they did the work correctly but come to find out that is was not done etc,
so the question is did they cause the head gasket to blow yes why cause they lied to them ask they guys were your go if a check light stays on when the problem is fix they will tell you the light will be off and stay that way unless they did not fix it right or they lied so the fact's speak for them self tires plus has over 500 complaints and out of those complaints i have been to court on a 100 of them letting the judge know that tires plus so called mechanics shouldn't be attempting said work as they are not qualified or have any experience.
so are you going to tell me your going to let someone work on your vehicle who can not tell you why your check light is still on let alone telling you what they told them no you would not as they only care if they made the quota for that day and on Sunday to meet there total goal compared to a shop who takes pride in what they do and making sure there customers are getting the best service& pricing cause with out those two you don't have jack.
