How much is your time worth?

He did so by purchasing a scan tool that he paid for (out of his own pocket for close to $5000)? That he was willing to share his knowledge with you for a mere $75?
Or is the fact that there are people out there that will tell you that they can plug a part in for next to nothing that have no idea of how those parts function or what can happen if those parts fail to correct your problem?
I have been in the automotive repair business for nearly 20 years and it still amazes me every day that people can go to the doctor and not even blink about the $80 visit to check them out and see what is wrong with them and then go to the pharmacy and spend another $50 to get the medicine to cure them. but when they are asked to do the same thing with thier cars they feel ripped off.
The only person ripped off here was the man who had to put up with your antics when you didn't want to pay for the work that you requested.

The public is viewed as a dollar figure. They figure the average person is worth 150 dollars a visit. so they will tell u anything to keep that average up.
Most of the managers and district managers have not a clue on how a car operates SO thats part of the problem and alot of the so called mechanics are butchers.
it is hard to find a good mechanic who is fair and knowledgeable. so in closeing take your car to a repair facility that is reputable. you might pay a little more but youll get better service GAURENTEED. i am also from johnstown but live here in fla. alot of ripoff places here stay away from anyplace that has tire in the name
