First, the product is slow and draggy even with high speed ethernet directly connected which is about the processor being crap.

Second to wirelessly connect you have to spend another 90 bucks  on your own special hub.   Finally I find it doesn't work with DirectTV when they come to hook up.  

So, I  called to cancel my service and was told that I was under a one year obligation.  Something I was not aware of to begin with.

The 15.00 fee btw was not advertised when I bought the box, but I decided to eat the expense.  Now if I cancel early they tell me they will charge me 22.00 per month.  This is extortion.  I won't have it. I will be placing this email in consumer forums all over the internet and then I will post warnings on the sites where I have purchased it.  After I will contact my bank and ask them to stop all payments to your service.

This is the foulest business dealing I have ever encountered.  Tivo is by far one of the biggest scams I have ever encountered and I will to my utmost to get that word out.

3. Do Early Termination Fees Apply To Any TiVo Payment

Plans?



A. An early termination fee applies to only monthly service plans that

included a 1 year commitment as follows:

(i) If you purchased a TiVo Premiere or Premiere XL DVR and

subscribed to the TiVo service on a $14.99 a month plan with a one (1) year

commitment, you can cancel your subscription to the TiVo service at any time,

but if you do so before the end of your initial one (1) year commitment, you

will be assessed an amount equal to $260 minus $22 per month for each month of

your subscription that you fulfilled, except as permitted by the 30-day money

back guarantee.

Not sure it's extortion, foul or a scam....you SHOULD have read the terms.  They don't have to explain it to you.

That's what the contract is for.

If you stop payment, you just may end up in collections.
