Todd Tripp spent many hours talking to me about his dogs. He spent over ten years developing his line of dogs that traces back to a foundation sire. Each and every dog coming out of his kennel can be traced back and have a large percentage of the foundation sire in their pedigree. They are genetically selected to be safe in a family and good at pulling sleds.
The reason I didn't decide to start breeding Banter Bulldogges by buying foundation stock from Todd was specifically because of the intense line breeding he had done in the last ten years. That fact counters the arguement that to be a "breed" you have to have line or inbreeding.
As for the current breed standards, I can't attest because I don't know if the Banter Bulldog Registry is still registering dogs, but at last known time of the registry being operational, the below descriptions set the breed standard.

My thoughts are that the person filing the report is an AKC purist who doesn't see the benefit of occasional outcrossing to improve the durability and genetic health of a breed. Purists, IMO, are the reason breeds develop health issues that cost consumers too much money in vet bills and break childrens' hearts when the dog dies of genetically created diseases.
