Im sorry to hear this customer wasnt happy with their promotion they purchased. We represent over 500 automotive centers nationwide and we are responsible for distributing and the sales for the promotion. It has a great value and customers purchase them to save money, find a new place to trust with theier vehicle and hopefully become a long term customer. Unfortunatly if the service center doesnt take care of the customer (as it seems in this case) then we gladely refund the money to the customer if its within a certain time frame as listed on each promo card or we will switch out the card for another shop in the area. This paticular customer wasnt interested in either option. Thank you Jim for your feedback. We tried to work with you but you opted just to complian rather than take a new card for a different shop.
Thank you

#4 UPDATE EX-employee responds
EX super-star salesman for Top Gun Promotions chimes in:
AUTHOR: Nullus - (U.S.A.)
SUBMITTED: Friday, July 31, 2009
2 for 1's were used frequently as a last ditch effort. [Company advice is that 3 out of 5 sales should be 2 for 1's.] There is a $20.00 off deal that can be employed also if you need to save the sale.
The 3 day cancellation is VERY hard to attain. If you can nail them down, you may get your money back, but they make it so difficult [by not answering the phone] that most just forgo the $87.54 to be done with it. DO NOT GIVE UP. If you stay vigilant you will win. Eventually.
Top Gun keeps NO records other than your payment information. Most the information, [address, email, phone numbers, etc.] gets thrown haphazardly into file boxes or cabinets never to be seen again.
The control numbers are all the same. This is to give the impression of control and organization. [Also to deter theft as many of the "contractors" do have criminal records and/or drug dependencies.]
The salesmen generally have no knowledge of these discrepancies, [for a while at least] so please do not take it out on them. Most of them are just college kids trying to earn a living. These salesmen ["independent contractors"] make anywhere from $20.00 - $200.00 per week and they get beat up verbally all day long to get that. Anything else is most likely a lie.
Top Gun exploits young, in-experienced kids to sell these wares and takes them for MUCH more than any customer. If any investigation needs undergoing, it should be one for the unfair labor practices of the company. For each card sold your average salesman gets $15 or $20. Thats $60 pure profit per card. The salesmen use their own cars, gas, and everything else they need to sell this card. The VP, Owner and others pay for nothing, and what's worse: they 1099 all of them.
As for the hiring policies, managers have been told explicitly, "Don't bother with the girls, they never work out anyway." I won't go into detail, but if you aren't white, male, and clean cut, your chances of getting hired are very diminished.
Now, I used one of these cards once. The card says "FREE", yet I still had to pay 40 more dollars to effect my services. In summation, the card really is a rip-off, the salesmen are getting scammed as well as the consumer. I am very sorry I worked there for so long and wish to apologize to every person I may have conned.
In short: everything that is said about them here is more or less true.

If your company is so great, then why do you have to jump through so many hoops to explain yourselves? Because your crooks and you know it. You call it advertising for a shop. Wrong, it's taking advantage of of shop owners who don't have a clue, and then praying on consumers with your "too good to be true" scam. You have absolutely nothing to lose in your proposition other than to print a cheesy card you sell for $89.95, and in many cases when people won't buy them you pull the 2 for 1 scam. What a deal!
Why don't you give up the con job and try to make a legitimate living. It wouldn't matter, you would be selling Shamwow's or a pill to put in the gas tank to save a million dollars, or tell me how to remove the spackle trapped in the colon walls.
Colon walls, see the corolation? People don't want your Shamwow!

For the ex-employee Jonathon. Who is not really Jonathon.... because we did now have such a person contracted is most likely an independent contractor who was unsuccessful at our business. Like any commission sales based comission jobs it is 100% based on your ability to sell. We do not break the law. We do not contract knowingly with any unlawful person. We do not work in a pyramid system. If you call a manager earning comissions on his/her contactors a pyrmaid then thats your oponion. We do business with service centers such as Goodyear, Midas, Firestone, and many other well known service centers across the country. These are very reputable service centers. Keep in mind we are not servicing vehicles.. only advertising for the service centers.
As for Jim in Oklahoma, he is completely unaware of our contracts with our clients in the Oklahoma area and is only speaking from the hip. We have done nothing wrong, and have not done anything other than abide by our part of the contract we have with promotion service centers.
Top Gun Promotions has been in business since 1988 and remains highly respected by hundreds of clients and thousands customers across the country. Any concerns or comments are taken very seriouslly and can be directed to our website at autocaresupersaver.com. Thank you for your interest in Top Gun Promotions Inc.

I live near Dallas, Texas where, as far as I know, the service shops don't have a problem honoring the SuperSaver packages that Top Gun Promotions peddles.
I bought a Goodyear Super Saver package on July 8, 2008. I paid with a check. After realizing that I already had similar services and discounts available through a Firestone package that I received for buying a new set of tires, I decided I should probably call and cancel my Super Saver package before they cashed my check.
I had post-dated the check by four or five days, and had been told by the salesman that I had a 3 day window in which to cancel if I chose. The back of the SuperSaver card confirmed this in fine print.
So, the day after I bought the SuperSaver package, on July 9, 2008, I called to cancel. The customer service number listed on the back of the card is, (972) 801-9496. I went through their automated system ("Press 3 for general customer service") and was immediately transferred to a voice mail box that said, "Sorry, we're currently out of the office or assisting other customers. Please leave a message and someone will get back to you shortly."
So, I left a message.
No one called back.
The next day, I called again. Again, I was immediately transferred to voicemail. I left another message. Again, no one called back.
A few hours later, I called again. It was the same run-around.
So, all in all, I called SIX times in three days, and EVERY time I was transferrred to voicemail where I left a message, but no one returned my call. My calls were ALL made on weekdays, most during normal business hours (noon, 2:00 p.m., 4:00 p.m., etc.). My 3 day cancellation window expired yesterday, and I still have yet to hear back from Top Gun Promotions.
In the last message I left on their system, I told them that their customer service sucks, and that their business practices are shady, and that I intended to tell anyone who would listen to avoid Top Gun Promotions like the plague.
Finally, I put a stop on the check I had given them. It cost me $30 to do it, but I'd rather donate my money to my banking institution than give these swindlers a penny.
It's pretty clever to offer a 3 day cancellation window and simply not answer the phone or return calls for two weeks or more. I'm sure they con people out of a lot of money that way. It's my suspicion that the automated voicemail system is just a cover for their elaborate con job-- I doubt anyone EVER answers the customer service line, because all the "servicing" Top Gun Promotions plans to do to the customer already occured back when the customer handed over their payment information (if you get my meaning). No legitimate company refuses to answer the customer service line. It's just shady.
I'm angry with Top Gun Promotions, but I thank them for teaching me a valuable lesson. I will never again hand over a check or credit card to any salesperson without taking the time to sit down and look up the reputation of the company online.

The solution is simple: Don't do business with "Top Gun Promotions" and Don't buy an "Auto Care Super Saver"
AUTHOR: Jonathan - (U.S.A.)
SUBMITTED: Thursday, June 05, 2008
They do not do any background checks on their employees ("subcontractors"), so that person knocking at your door could very well be a convicted child molester or drug addict. Many of their "subcontractors" actually do have criminal backgrounds----after all, being a "door-to-door" salesperson is not exactly attractive work. Then they also do a good job of trying to take advantage of high school or college students----often hiring people just to throw them out there for a few days to see if they can make a few sales here and there. They will flier parking lots which end up getting littered----they do this despite many complaints and requests that they not do this. They also advertise in apartment complexes---urging their "subcontractors" to break laws and trespass in order to push a $90 coupon to a place that may or may not be in business and may or may not offer good service.
Ultimately, the days of the door-to-door salesman are gone. In this day and age, it's just not worth the risk to open your door to strangers----especially strangers who ask for your credit card number!
My advice? Do not work for "Top Gun Promotion" - and don't open their door if they knock, and certainly do not buy an "Auto Care Super Saver!"

I hope an attorney sees this and anyone that was denied a job from them after sending them their picture (see ad below). Also in response to them doing criminal background checks, all one has to do is go to superiorcourt.maricopa.gov and search the dockets. You may be surprised who you find there. The owner, president, vice president and secretary of Top Gun Promotions are all listed at cc.state.az.us. With regards to the Arizona Better Business Bureau, they do in fact have 13 complaints in 36 months. That's worked out to about 1 every 2 1/2 months and someone thinks that good? And for those people that have been discriminated against by them here is where you go ica.state.az.us. Just remember with all of the web address you must as the www. Good luck to all. Especially Top Gun Promotions, they're gonna need it.

SUBMITTED: Thursday, May 01, 2008
The scam you run has offered the Stupid Saver cards to prospective buyers 2 for the price of one, forward dating the cards, and your sales people will represent themselves as employees of the business that you are using your con on.
You sir, are the reason Ralph is no longer in business. Top Gun was able to con a naive freshman shop owner into believing that your crappy promotion would be a good marketing tool. As it turns out, the former owner lost over $120.000.00 through your great promotion.
As it turns out, you have an even bigger problem. Apparently the hiring practices of your great company are discriminatory toward black applicants. One of your former employees stated that Top gun will not hire black people because according to him, Top Gun feels that most people will not respond well to door to door salesmen of color. Your discrimination toward certain applicants is going to be the downfall of your "great" company. Why else would you require a photograph with an application? Because you cannot legally ask for ethnicity group in an application.
Get a real job and quit being a bottom feeder before you are sued for your hiring practices.

Next time you go to a professional sports event such as a NFL, NBA, you will at some point be givin a free tshirt or a free souvinier. Well guess what ... thats marketing.. they arent just handing those out because your a nice guy. One day you will realize what we do is simple marketing and its done at a very low cost compared to what service centers like goodyear's spend.
Again im not debating Scotty's credentials but he is obligated by contract to accept what RM TIRES agreed to. Good idea or bad idea isnt the point. They signed up and we did our part selling the memberships, now they need to take care of the customer. Hopefully anybody else reading this will see your choice of words is unappropiate and unprofessional and not even take you seriouslly anyway.

Most if not all of the complaints concerning our company are due to the service center not providing service as promised (by contract) to a customer or performing bad service. We end up taking the blame mosty because people want their money back and we were the ones that sold the card and the shop generally just tells the customer "call top gun and get a refund" instead of taking care of the customer as they should. Keep in mind we are only talking about 1% of the service centers that we promote but one service center can make our company or our business bad. Jim in this paticular situation my previous comments have explained the legalities of our relationship between us and RM Tires.
We could just do what RM Tires is doing and send all the customers away and just make up some story like they did but we dont do business like that and are TAKING CARE OF EVERY CUSTOMER THAT PURCHASED A RM TIRE CARD AND EXCHANGING IT FREE OF CHARGE FOR ANOTHER SERVICE CENTER WITIN 2 MILES.
The service center that we are exchanging the cards for is a reputable and honest service ceter and has been mentioned on the news as a company that will take the cards. As for the BBB complaints, all i can say it agaim many of them are from customers who were not happy with the promotion because of the shop service or lack of... Although we try to respond to every BBb complaint bi or small if for some reason we dont respond, (usually because we were not aware of teh complaint) the BBB automatically gives you a unsatisfactory rating.
All in all we have been in business over 20 years and sold millions of cards coast to coast and if we have 20 or so compaints in the past 20 years on the BBB or other internet sites that is a extremely small number of people compared to the very satisified ones. Not to mention most if not all of the ones that have made a valid complaint we have taken care of them some way or somehow. Your concerns are valid and i hope this clears up some of your incorrect oponion of Top Gun Promotions, its employees, and products. Thank you

Top Gun Promotions has sold millions memberships over last 20 years and is a very reputable company which stands behind their product. If the service center decided not to honor their contract with Top Gun Promotions that is the service centers fault not Top Gun Promotions. And if so, Top Gun Promotions would exchange the membership for a new service center for the customer.
